Fresh columnists for 2007 Columnist Search finds eight to write monthly columns More than 150 people entered the Observer’s 11th annual Columnist Search. Every year we invite readers who want to share their opinions on the Viewpoint page to submit three sample columns and a letter describing who they are and what sort of topics they wish to address.These eight have been invited to write monthly columns in 2007:? Mike DeVine, A civil/criminal trial lawyer for two decades in federal and state courts throughout the South and presently Vice-President of Intequity, Inc., a multi-state real estate investment firm headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., DeVine was a SC Democrat party activist, county official and state convention delegate for 20 years before what he calls his “conservative epiphany” in 2001. He will offer a decidedly conservative voice on legal issues, politics and free speech. He is active on two conservative websites, Redstate.com and race42008.com, for which he?was an original contributing writer.
