Romney Fundraiser Update- Insiders Edition

<unofficial rumorage>

Had a talk with someone who is on the inside if the Romney finance loop. Turns out Romney is breaking almost all of his daily and weekly fund-raising goals.

Today was a 5 star day for him in DC. This morning he had a breakfast meeting with his finance team. This afternoon was a fund-raising luncheon, and tonight is a very large fundraiser. I know that the luncheon pulled in almost twice the stated goal and tonight promises to be a bounteous night as well.

The word is, prepare for March 31st.

    Jason-
    Im not surprised to hear that Romney is doing better than even he expected in fundraising. Amazing that he remains competitive with the others when you consider that he still isnt known by so many Americans. What the fundraising must be like in the 4th quarter when he is better known.

    As a side note, is there a site online you would recommend that allows junkies like me to see where he will be on a given day? I only hear about events, fundraisers, rallys, after they have occurred. What say you?

    Basically whatever is on his site is what is publicly available. If you are doing any sort of fundraising there is more info available. I should make it clear I don’t do any fundraising, so I eat the crumbs off the table.

    I dont fundraise either, beyond encouraging family and friends to get onboard and send him some money. Im blown away sometimes that others (Obama for example) have huge audiences for a given speech (15,000 in Austin), yet I search for an hour or more and couldnt tell you where Mitt has been recently, or will he will be going next. Nor do I get email from the campaign. I’d give his campaign an A- instead of an A+, for only leaving people like me who thirst for a silly email on his campaigning, or some knowledge on his where abouts, and get only what MMM and others can share.

    I dont you dont represent the campaign, so I dont expect an answer. As for the money, I think that money will carry so much more weight this election than any other. So many states by Feb 5th, that it will almost have to be a nationwide effort (commercials, phone banks, etc) by late this year. Thats when I think he will make his big push. Until then, I expect a slow and steady uptick in polls with little attention or fan fare.
