DAN Quayle, who flies into New York one week a month from Indianapolis for his work with Cerberus, at San Pietro, predicting to Nancy and Bill O’Shaughnessy that Mitt Romney will win the GOP nomination for president…
by Jason Bonham @ 8:42 am. Filed under Mitt Romney
Dan Quayle is supporting Romney, good for him. But the clout of Quayle is the voice of ONE.
When Dan ran for president in 1999, he was never ranked highly in the national polls.
Strong leadership in a VP is admired, and that is why I respect Cheney.
But Romney has high negatives right now, and that is why he is spending a few million in TV ads to
brush up his image.
Sorry that Quayle is coming out for Romney. That might actually hurt Mitt since few people give
Quayle much credit for anything these days.
Hey KT. I just read two books on Romney and to call him hollow is ignorant. What he did to pull out he Olympics was absolutely amazing. I doubt a hollow politician could have done that. KT, what are your credentials? Tell us about yourself.
I love the Rudy supporters who continue to quote this poll and that poll. Please people, you must know by now that they mean nothing - EVER. Gore thought the exit polls showed him winning. The night of the election and the polls that night meant nothing. I’m not sure who will get the nod but I’ll be very surprised if it’s Rudy. The facts are clear, he is anything but conservative.
The polls mean the same regardless of who is leading. For me, I look at the polls for changes and trend movements. It is way too early to get as excited as some of the Rudy supporters presently are.

hehe…did you read those books on Romney, or write them? I don’t feel I have to give you “my credentials” just because you don’t like my light ribbing of your candidate. I base my opinions on reality. I even met Dan Quayle when I worked on the Bush-Quayle campaign and let me tell you, Quayle himself is also kind of hollow. When he met ordinary citizens he shook their hand with a blank stare on his face. As for why I completely and utterly distrust Romney and why I think he is hollow: Lets start with the fact that all we really know about him is that he is wealthy and he re-organized the olympics. He ran for Senator as a liberal, then governor when he lost that race. Then he started transforming himself into a “real” conservative when he was planning to run for president. This was midway thru his first and ONLY term as governor (he knew he would not win re-election) of his 2nd or 3rd adopted former home state (its Michigan, now isn’t it?) That is just part of it.
You’ve characterized Romney’s run for Senate as liberal. Could you back this up? I’m keenly interested, since every particular issue that Romney was liberal on, Rudy was more so. Would you feel comfortable calling Rudy a ultra-liberal?
KT: Okay, now how did Romney get wealthy? You make it sound like it is a mystery. He essentially turned around hundreds of companies. It is documented. KT, if you really wanted to you could do a little research rather than believe the first liberal report you hear. Honestly, you sound very shallow. No wonder you won’t share your credentials.
Steve doesn’t have to be an expert to know that polls are worth nothing at this point. Bill Clinton (a former two-termer president in case your ignorance prevented you from knowing) was eleveth in the polls at this point.

Joan,
Quayle didn’t endorse him, just made a prediction. I think thas is an important difference.

Haha… Romney-Quayle…. thats a great match. Two imperfect, hollow politicians.

Gee, I guess all of us who support Rudy can hang it up since Quayle has spoken.
I wonder if Dan has checked the polls lately.

Steve,
Of course if Romney were leading in the polls, those polls would mean something.
Right?

DB - No, I’m sorry but you’re wrong. As I stated earlier, the polls don’t mean anything regardless of who may be shown to be leading.

Steve,
I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you were the resident expert on the importance of
polls.

I live in MA and am an R and have worked in state gov since Weld. Romney is simply as they say a fraud.
March 19th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
RC, I take it you are poking fun at the stereotypical take-my-word-for-it anti-Romney posts around here? KT, I’m looking forward to specifics.

‘Love the Web site, but long for the day when every single post doesn’t end up being about polls. You know who you are.
