I was arguing with Jason (I believe) the other day that a significant portion of the supporters of other big 4 have announced their intention to switch allegiance to Thompson. This poll is proving me right and Jason wrong.
Tano,
Chuck’s non-announcement the other day basically welcomed him into further irrelevancy. If he was serious about running, he would have rode the wave of speculation and not deflate his chances through such a non-commital press conference.
From comparing last months results to this months, as of now Thompson seems to drawing evenly from all the candidates, as you said.
But if you take all the polls that have included Thompson you would have to say Romney has lost very little (if nothing) to Thompson and it is Giuliani that is waning.
Lastly, these polls do show a trend, but they show a trend of how Thompson (and for that matter Giuliani) does without any vetting. Remember this is his entrance, not his exit. We have many debates and news cycles left. Just as Giuliani has shown signs of sagging poll numbers with Thompson, Fred will show the same when the candidates start debating, campaigning and discussing ideas.

I wonder if they are just going to skip the March poll and wait for April to roll around.
