Giuliani Wins National Federation of Republican Women Straw Poll

The National Federation of Republican Women held their convention in California this weekend, and Rudy ran away with the straw poll:

  • Rudy Giuliani: 50%
  • Fred Thompson: 21%
  • Mitt Romney: 14%
  • Huckabee: 7%
  • Hunter: 4%
  • McCain: 2%

Hat-tip: Soren Dayton (who also has some interesting tidbits on the convention itself).

Giuliani running very strong among women, as usual.

I’m surprised at Fred Thompson’s showing. I thought that women would be more horrified by his Beauty & The Beast-marriage.

More like Giuliani running away with women, as usual.

Sorry, but I just could not resit!

    :-)

  3. Tyler Says:

Looks like women like McCain as much as most conservatives. Women like Giuliani because they know he’s always available.

cwpete: ‘More like Giuliani running away with women, as usual.’

If all his ex-wives and mistresses vote for him, along with the men who usually vote Republican, he’ll win in a landslide.

    lol

  6. cwpete Says:

    hahah, funny..

I’m going to guess this is because he is a heathen, i.e., pro-choice.

  8. John Galt Says:

How does Rudy run strong with women after the way he treated his wife?

I know many see that as a low blow, but to announce his divorce publicly to her and to bring his mistress into the mayor’s mansion while she is still living there shows a complete lack of respect for women.

Oh well, who knows. We all know Thompson is a ladies man, but he at least divorced his wife before he started messing around.

Maybe you should remember where the pole was held.
CA would have a large number of members since the convention
was held in their state. I bet nationally the Fed Rep Women
would have a different make up. Most women in the GOP I know
    are strongly pro-life.

National Republican Federation for Women Rule Book, rule #11, and I quote:

“11. The NFRW and its affiliates, as an organization, shall not take a stand on the issue
    of abortion”

Now I understand why there is a landslide here. Folks, if you want someone who will not take a stand on the issue of abortion, Giuliani is your closest match.

Romney’s lead in Iowa vanishes into thin air.

  12. John Galt Says:

Bet that makes you happy doesn’t it sampo. His candidate is in the toilet but he takes extra pleasure in seeing bad news for other republican candidates. Maybe that is becuase Mccain wanted to be a democrat.

So how is Mccain’s campaign doing, besides being 2 million in the hole?

  13. Jeff Fuller Says:

    Sampo,

That link you provided quoted the numbers wrong.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21038955/site/newsweek/page/2/ has the results with Mitt at 24% and Fred at 16%.

I tried to leave a comment at the site . . . but it didn’t seem to let me.

Just an FYI . . . and you seemed so pleased too.
