An endorsement convention can be long and tedious. For a candidate to receive an endorsement, two-thirds (66.7%) of the ARRA delegates have to cast their ballots for that candidate. If a candidate achieves this percentage, voting ceases and the candidate is considered endorsed. At this years Endorsement convention, at the completion of the initial balloting, 80 percent of the delegates voted to endorse Fred Thompson. Balloting ceased.
The ARRA is pleased to announce its endorsement of former Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee as the Republican Candidate for President.

What happened to their former Governor? They did’nt like him??

This is much more interesting than the TN post. This confirms what I have read about Huckabee being not very popular with some conservatives in AR.

The ARRA is a joke. All five people in the group came and voted wow.
November 7th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
Whereas Fred has almost unanimous support from Tennessee, these good people from Arkansas overwhelmingly decided no to endorse favorite son Huckabee. Maybe he isn’t so favorite.

This is a private group. By my count only 45 people were involved. big deal. Within Arkansas Huckabee is undoubtedly the favorite son.

Tommy – please do some more research before posting something so clearly biased

Maybe I’ll form a group with a few of my closest friends, give it an official and important sounding name, and then make a “significant” endorsement.
How about the All Powerful Midwest Nominating Republican Convention?
November 7th, 2007 at 10:05 pm
UA,
I never said this was a great pickup. However, the ARRA is nationally known and Huckabee even spoke at the National Republican Assembly.
Also, this is an endorsement for Thompson, and I don’t remember mentioning Huckabee in my post to begin with.

haha…These guys are a joke…
November 7th, 2007 at 10:19 pm
It is now official, and we demand a thread!
The All Powerful Midwest Nominating Republican Convention has endorsed Mike Huckabee, with 100% support among voting, credentialed delegates!!!

To show you what these endorsements mean, in similar news, the MISSOURI Republican Assembly just endorsed Duncan Hunter.
Seriously.

No one cares about Hunter. Go away and leave Tommy alone.

Seriously, the ARRA is an embarrassment to the NFRA. I seriously doubt there are more than 50 members total, and most of them are more strange than the worst of the Ron Paul fans.
Most of you may have met some of them at the convention. Several members of the Sooner Republican Assemblies have told me that they intentionally HIDE from the ARRA members just to avoid having to talk with them.

Go Hunter Go!

UA R’back, that list of Huck endorsements is a little embarrassing – Polk County chair (which is actually against RPA by-laws)? Republican party activist? Former Highway Commissioner (that he appointed)? Former state senator….from last decade?
Seriously…the man’s polling at 8% in his home state. I don’t think it would be very smart to nominate someone that would lose his home state. Ask Algore.
November 8th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
Fred has been endorsed by every Republican legislator in the state to Tennessee! Less than one-third of Arkansas legislators say they are supporting Huckabee (including those who are supporting him “until he drops out or whatever he does”). Hilarious.
