Do you all notice that nowhere, no media is talking about Ron Paul this morning?
I’ve been checking all the libertarian boards like Reason.com and ThirdPartyWatch.com. They Paul-oids are down in the dumps. Their man got 9.75% in 5th place. They’re particularly peeved that “lazy” Fred beat them by 4 points.
Now that’s a good thing to come out of Iowa. Now perhaps we can get the Paulists to back one of the more mainstream libertarian types: Rudy, Romney or Fred.
You all, please start this morning by talking some sense into the Paul-bots. Tell them it’s time to rally behind a Fiscal Conservative to ward off the most un-libertarian of all candidates ever in the Republican Party – Mike “Huck-monster” Huckabee.

Here’s some news to cheer everyone up this morning. With all the Iowa coverage, this story out of Alaska, was completely over-looked.
For the first time EVER! Governor Sarah Palin said on a Live Radio Interview in Anchorage that she would be interested in the VP slot and yes, would strongly consider running for the White House in the future.
So cheer up, fellow Republicans. Yes, we’ll probably get Obama for 2008. But come 2012, it’s Sarah Palin all the way!!!
Adam Brickley of Draft Sarah Palin for VP has the story up at http://www.mainstreamlibertarian.com

Eric #2. . .As much as I and most of the rest of the great state of Alaska love Sara Palin, I promise you she won’t be on the GOP ticket this year. First of all, she just doesn’t have enough on-the-job experience (one year as governor and a few more as mayor of a small town – REALLY small by Lower 48 standards – isn’t nearly enough time)and that will totally be used against her (unless Obama is the nominee, in which case we lose the whole experience debate). Second, she’s doing phenomenal as gov here with tons more to do and a booming economy getting “boomier” by the day. That’s just too much for her to give up so soon. Third, as I said before, nearly 600,000 AK residents will baracade the doors to the state capitol building to prevent anyone from taking her away from us! Having said all that, when she does run in 2016 (or 2012 if we lose this year), I will happily join you on the Palin for Pres campaign.

“Romney, who has struggled to overcome deep skepticism about his Mormon faith, led among non-evangelical voters by 2-to-1 or more.”

#1 Eric. . .I like your website but have one suggestion: In your great list of libertarian political leaders throughout the country, you have Vic Kohring, a state rep from Alaska. He may very well be a libertarian, but he’s also headed to prison on federal bribery and corruption charges. He resigned back in June. Actually, this speaks highly towards why Gov. Palin won and is so popular – she rode a huge wave of popular discontent with the rampant political corruption which took over the AK legislature and oil industry here. As far as I can tell, two legislators are in prison, two have yet to be sentenced, and a few more who shouldn’t be making any vacation plans that don’t involve at least 3-5 years.

The first time that it dawned on me was when he appeared on the Letterman show months ago, Obama can be elected President. It was a scary thought. Last night it became frightening and closer
If you watched his speech, he is electrifying. His appeal is- what sells in America- superstar charisma. In the state of infatuation, people don’t see faults. His supporters won’t see his inexperience, his far Left Liberalism, his being a disaster as CIC in time of war.
The result of the fractionization among the Republicans can be an eventual nominee that is so weakened, so damaged, that he will be a sacrificial lamb.
If you think this opinion is the result of yesterday’s result, it is not. It is what I have predicted here and elsewhere for more then a year. I wrote that Republicans had two celebrity superstars who may have competed- Giuliani and McCain. We have diminished them both. Is it too late to rehabilitate them?
President Obama. Shiver.
