From Michelle Malkin:
Just in from the Hunter campaign. News coming at 2:00pm Eastern:
For Immediate Release: January 7, 2007
Contact: Bob Bevill, (978) 339-3198, (603) 913-1770Presidential Candidate and California Congressman Duncan Hunter will be making a major announcement today at 2:00 p.m. (EST), regarding the future of his Presidential bid. All media are encouraged to attend or contact Bob Bevill, National Media Coordinator, to arrange alternate interviews.
DUNCAN HUNTER ANNOUNCEMENT
Radisson Hotel Lobby
700 Elm Street
Manchester, New Hampshire
2:00 p.m. (EST)***
Rep. Hunter has been a stalwart advocate for strict immigration enforcement, border security, and a strong national defense. If he withdraws, which seems likely, his presence will be greatly missed by grass-roots conservatives. I’ve never been able to answer questions from readers about why his campaign never caught fire given his excellent credentials and expertise (compared to, say, Mike Huckabee’s). Politics is weird and inexplicable like that.
Question: Will Hunter throw his support to one of the other candidates? Which one?
Any Guesses?
January 7th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Huckabee
January 7th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Huckabee I can’t see. I could see him endorsing McCain or Mitt to make a difference in NH, or perhaps even Thompson.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
#1 - He has had great things to say about him lately -
January 7th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Hmmm. I just might head out there to the announcement.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
I think it will probably go to McCain, simply because of their beliefs on the war.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
It should be Mitt. Whether or not it is or not, who knows?
January 7th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
OBVIOUSLY, based on the timing of this, he is doing this to shake things up. He will therefore endorse either McCain (most likely) or Romney.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
He’s going to throw all his support to somebody?? What support??
January 7th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
I think he might go with Mitt or Rudy…get himself a cabinet position.
However, I think Mitt should have said during yesterdays debate
“Yes, John you know a lot about terrorists and you know Musharraf; therefore, I will be President and deal with all aspects of the Presidency and as Sec. of Defense you can focus all of your knowledge and energy in stopping the terrorists and protecting our country!”
January 7th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
Its got to be Romney, just like Tancredo because of his views on immigration.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Hunter strongly supports keeping Guantanamo open, though, so definitely not Huckabee. I would think that the strategic planning of making the announcement the day before the NH primary is a good indication that he wants to impact the voting, which would make me think either Romney or McCain. I sure hope it’s Romney he endorses, if he is indeed dropping out as speculated.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Thompson is my first guess; McCain #2. Classy (and Hunter has ALWAYS been classy) would be to stay out of the fray for now, and let the voters of H decide for themselves. I too can’t figure out why he didn’t catch on more. He seemed like Tancredo without the warts, and McCain without the baggage.
I’m still PO’ed at Fox for boxing out Paul. Not b/c I like him, or will vote for him, but there is no way to exclude him and claim it was “fair and balanced.”
January 7th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Hunter bails out and endorses a candidate. Does immigration trump the war on terror? If yes, he endorses Mitt, if not he endorses McCain.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
I could not see Hunter throwing his support behind Huckabee, the liberal in every way except pro-life issues.
Duncan is the true blue conservative in this race and many of his supporters have Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson as their #2. I would be shocked and disappointed if it’s McCain or Huckabee - the MSM’s darlings.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
WHAT IS IT about Romney that you people like?? I JUST DONT GET IT. The guy is a fake.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I think all of Hunters positions would point to Romney or Thompson, but who knows. He may be buddy buddy with McCain.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Hunter’s California consitutency would be turned off by a McCain endorsement because mccain is not viewed thatwell here because of his immigration stances. I’m not saying that he will not endorse McCain, but it will put him at risk of backlash from his own supporters. In any case, I don’t think this makes much of a difference either way.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Not too many people are buddy buddy with McCain in Congress…and now FDT has found out why?
Joe M…Mitt is an Executive and he has accomplished a lot of things, unlike most the others.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
#15
Because he is not fake. He just appears that way to liberals because they can’t seem to think that someone could have a strong family and be super successful and be REAL; it goes against everything they’ve been taught about people being victims.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
huckabee. despite that his support will go to romney because of immigration.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Jason,
I think it’s notable that Romney has been talking so much about China recently (in last night’s debate, in the last Michigan ad). Add to that his position on immigration, and a Romney endorsement makes the most sense.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Ifilgo …you almost made me lose my lunch - - Chinese today. Rudy is the only one who actually lead millions, transformed a city and turned around one of the largest governments in the world. Please don’t bring up Mitt’s “executive business background” - - thats what we were sold on with GWB and look where that got us. We need a REAL leader that inspires us and relates to average people and tells it like it is. Not a phony who is constantly putting on airs.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
I think in order to endorse Romney a person needs to say, “I like mandates”.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hcTfmRhR0I
January 7th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
I like Hunter, but he was a clear Romney-hater during the debates. He will circle the wagons and go to McCain.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Tyler he was? I saw him once try to question him on a recent investment of Bain capital, and then I saw him give a huge compliment to answer of Mitts. I don’t really think I saw the animus.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
tyler, i just dont see it…. ann coulter LOVES the guy!
January 7th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
after a year to talk about the issues and really get in depth with the race, you still get the ultra productive and insightful “WHAT IS IT about Romney that you people like?? I JUST DONT GET IT. The guy is a fake.” comments. duncan hunter endorses mccain of course. how does he not?
January 7th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
MITT IS A PHONY. And if he does not win tomorrow night, I won’t have to be saying that anymore.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Joe M,
“We need a REAL leader that inspires us and relates to average people and tells it like it is. Not a phony who is constantly putting on airs.”
It’s good to know that the GOP class warfare isn’t limited to the Huckabots.
Tyler,
I’d disagree on Hunter. I think Hunter and Mitt like each considerably. From every impression I’ve had, it seems clear that Hunter likes Romney quite a bit more then any of the front-runners. With the exception of that odd “why is Bain Capital doing business with Iran” question a few debates back, they’ve been incredibly cordial in debates.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
If Duncan Hunter truly cares about the issues he espouses, then he will support Fred Thompson. But if he is looking for a job in the next administration, it will be Romney.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Last year I heard that the two of them didn’t see eye to eye on immigration as well as defense contracting. McCain’s the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee and Hunter is ranking Republican on the House Armed Services committee. I can’t say for sure one way or the other. I agree with sampo though that it would depend on whether immigration trumps the war, in Hunter’s mind.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
I don’t like this…too many things seem to be breaking for Romney at the last minute.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Joe M,
An honest question deserves an honest answer:
1) Mitt is a man of immaculate character and principles. He had his aides make up a list of the more than 90 promises he made to the voters in his 2002 victory in Massachusetts, and then delivered on every one of them. I could cite many other examples.
2) He has an unparalleled ability to evaluate and solve complex problems. He turned around an Olympics that was in a hopeless situation. He turned around more than 150 companies that were economic basket cases and made them successful….creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs in the process. He took over Massachusetts when it had a $3 Billion deficit 6 months into the fiscal year and a Constitutional mandate to balance the budget. He did it without raising taxes, and by getting massive spending cuts approved by a legislature more than 80% controlled by liberal Democrats.
I have many reasons besides these to support Mitt, but these 2 would be enough. If you want more, I’ll give you more.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
joe c and joe m’s comments are full of air and fluff.
to say romney is not an impressive leader is to be completly ignorant. study his background. at least i can admit that giuliani and others have records that demonstrate leadership and comptence.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Hunter has the 80’s mentality on the military: Throw money at it –lots of it.
McCain’s philosophy is a more modern “do more with less”.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
#30
I agree.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Hunter has 3 issues. Immigration, the war, and China. Probably in that order. Fred’s good for 2 of three. McCain is solid on one. Rudy, ditto. Huckabee is an unmitigated on of them, but solidly protectionist on trade (which presumably would extend to China). Romney’s plausible, if not spectacular, on all three (from the perspective of a Hunterite Republican). I think he’ll almost certainly endorse Fred or Mitt.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Guys, Hunter will either endorse McCain or Romney. They are ones with immediate importance.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
In the beginning of this cycle, I was hoping against Hope that Rep. Hunter’s campaign caught on. He would have been an outstanding leader for the party and the nation.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Lets not forget hunter was ‘lost in governor romney’s answer’ a few debates ago.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
I’d say there’s a 45% he endorses Mitt, a 30% chance he endorses Fred, a 20% chance he endorses McCain, and a 5% chance he endorses Huckabee (Rudy’s too far out of the conversation at the moment, for an endorsement to make sense).
January 7th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
This morning on MSNBC Hunter emphasized Immigration (said there should be no amnesty) and Trade Agreements (mentioned China specifically). Since Romney has been touting both of these recently, it could mean Hunter is joining forces. Pure guess.
With this election who knows.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Sampo,
I am no military expert, and this is an honest question here on my part, not trying to make a point: Wasn’t McCain deriding Rumsfeld for trying the do-more-with-less approach? Maybe I was confused on that though.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
I hope you guys are right. Hunter is a solid guy and Ann Coulter is usually right about what’s good for conservatism. I will say that if he backs Romney then Thompson is done.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Jason,
Yeah, I didn’t understand that comment either.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
We should know in about 15-20 minutes.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Joe C,
Romney is not a Fake. Get beyond your irrational haterd and explain yourself.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
If Hunter endorses Romney it will have the “Tancredo effect” –none.
He is at odds with McCain on so many things: immigration being the most obvious. Perhaps there’s an even bigger difference on free trade.
Also:
Gitmo
Coercive interrogation
Taking all these differences into account, I think it would be making a huge statement if he endorsed McCain because it shows a willingness to put aside domestic differences in favor of the war on terror.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Regardless of who he endorses or who our nominee is, they should invite Hunter to be Sec Def. I hate his views on trade, but I don’t think there are many people more knowledgable about the military than him
January 7th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
43, i’m talking about wasteful spending –not on the execution of the war.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
If I’m not mistaken, joe c is pro-Romney. You don’t need to go after him.
In 27, he was just quoting “Joe M” to prove he (joe m) is a slow learner.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
#34, #47, i was being sarcastic. i was saying that the phoney comment was dumb. i am a mittbot through and through. i have the supporter card in my wallet. don’t believe me? check the top picture on my blog. http://joeandbritt.blogspot.com/
January 7th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
For some reason, I think he’d support Huckabee even though I’m sure Hunter is appauled by Huck’s lack of foreign policy knowledge.
January 7th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Romney haters…
Why would Mitt drop out with a clsoe NH loss (2nd place) when he would still be the leader of the delegates and has the money to continue??
January 7th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
So there’s a new Iowa general election poll out. http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=8757bfec-93fa-4e25-af88-8e77b51250cdhttp://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=8757bfec-93fa-4e25-af88-8e77b51250cd
Obama trounces every Republican…he beats Rudy by 40 points. Does anyone still doubt that Obama’s victory last week was a disaster for the Republican party?
January 7th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Whatever happened to the evidence comming out today “against a major candidate”?
January 7th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
So there’s a new Iowa general election poll out from SurveyUSA. Obama trounces every Republican, beating Rudy by a whopping 40%. Extraordinarily worrying.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
The scandal that rocked the world. Get ready…. Someone will be taken OUT!
January 7th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
55: it is a publicity stunt for an anti-mormon book. Here is the announcement:
Revelation Press Publishes Blockbuster Expose: Mitt — Set Our People Free!
A Former TV Business Editor/Reporter and Decorated War Hero ‘Swift
Boats’ Presidential Hopeful Mitt Romney — With Well-Documented Facts
WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — In 2004, John Kerry faced
opposition from an unexpected quarter — his fellow Swift Boat veterans
from Vietnam. In 2008, it’s Mitt Romney’s turn to be “Swift-Boated” — but
this time, instead of unsubstantiated innuendo, Romney is “Swift Boated”
with a comprehensively-researched, solidly fact-based book — Mitt, Set Our
People Free! Like Toto in Oz, this book tears away the curtain and reveals
the truth behind the Mormon Church and its beliefs about the U.S.
Presidency — and what that will mean to “President” Mitt Romney.
This exciting new book — Mitt, Set Our People Free! — published by
Revelation Press, reveals just how Mitt Romney’s sacred oath to the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, known as the Mormons or the LDS –
including a vow of obedience to the “Living Prophet,” the President of the
LDS Church — will impact his ability to govern as President of the United
States.
Jesus said that man cannot serve two masters — but if Romney is
elected President, he will have to serve two conflicting oaths. American
Presidents swear an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution
of the United States. However, this Presidential Oath is in direct conflict
with Romney’s sacred oath to his Mormon Church — a blood oath which puts
Romney’s life, fortune and obedience at the unrestricted service of his
Church. This obedience is defined by the Church’s Living Prophet, the
President of the Mormon Church and — as they believe — the literal Voice
of God on earth.
According to author Mike Moody, “One of the LDS Church’s basic tenets
is a prophecy from founder and First Prophet Joseph Smith that in the
latter days, the U.S. Constitution will ‘hang by a thread as fine as silk
fiber’ until a Mormon leader rides in on his White Horse to save the U.S.
and the Constitution — then use his control of the United States to set up
a world-wide theocracy, one based on the clearly unorthodox beliefs of the
Church of Latter Day Saints.”
Author Mike Moody, himself a 7th Generation Mormon from a family of
Church-founding patriarchs - men who served Joseph Smith and Brigham Young
as they created this remarkable “church” — uses his both insider knowledge
of the LDS Church and his long-time personal ties to his one-time college
fraternity brother, Mitt Romney, to point out the essential conflict
between Romney’s sacred Oath to the Church and the oath he seeks to take as
President.
Moody also details — chapter and verse — the many compromises and
less-than-candid and frequently inconsistent positions Romney has taken to
bring himself from successful venture capitalist to one of the leading
contenders for the Republican nomination for Presidency.
Mitt — Set Our People Free! includes a glossary of “insider” terms
that define the Mormon experience, as well as ten full pages of insightful,
fully-sourced end-notes. Each bold assertion in Moody’s book is validated
by credible third-party sources, many of them official — though
essentially secret — LDS church documents. This book, published by
Revelation Press and available through Amazon.com, rips away the veil of
secrecy to expose the Mormon Church and Mitt Romney for what they really
are — and what they really could become if they take control of the
American government.
Mitt — Set Our People Free! is a controversial book by a controversial
author, written for those who support Romney — and those who fear him.
Author Mike Moody, a twice-decorated US Army war hero and ten-year veteran
TV business news editor and reporter, is also a maverick Republican who,
four years ago, was the Nevada Coordinator of Republicans for Kerry.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
ifigo,
None of us has any illusions that Romney is going to go quietly, but if Romney is going to use Giuliani’s strategy how do you think it’s going to look once the reports are relaeased that show Romney spent $40M of his own money? That’s going to be know before Feb 5. How is it going to look?
January 7th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Have heard that Romney had some bigger-than-expected crowds today at a couple of events. Maybe there is some momentun from the weekend.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
So he’s not dropping out, which is of immense relief to his 5 supporters.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Greg,
Matt Lewis talked to Marc Ambinder, who says tomorrow Mitt might surprise alot of people. I trust Ambinder quite a bit.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
THAT’S IT?…..Huckabee must be very desparate.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
shaw, that was the real release? That would help Romney more than hurt him. Add this book to the one oh hundreds of “Mormons: Truth Revealed” books.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
Adam,
Well to you it will look bad, to most people it will look like a guy who changes strategy as the events change. Are you suggesting he should keep campaigning in IA and NH after tomorrow?
January 7th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
So the important announcement was to complain about being excluded from debates and to announce his one Wyoming delegate and that he’s still running? LOL!
Way to get news coverage, Hunter! CNN cut away immediately when they realized it wasn’t newsworthy.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
My bet is he will go with Mitt, or Fred. I think he will throw his support to Mitt though due to where Fred is in the standings right now.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
Romney will not drop out. He already has WYoming, Nevada, Michigan in the bag.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Jason,
No. I’m suggesting that if it looks like Romney is a largely self-funding candidate, everyone else, Democrat and Republican is going to have a lot to say about his viability in the general election.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Nate,
No way does Romney have Michigan in the bag. Not with no Democrat contest. Not with Independents voting.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Breaking news: Romney to make an important announcement.
New sledding videos found.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
64: Yep, I pulled it off of a PR Newswire Web site. I googled Revelation Press and swiftboat and found it there. No surprise that this hasn’t hit the blogosphere yet. I think people see it for what it really is. A stupid publicity stunt.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
it has been 10 min already! Any update???
January 7th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
dubious, ROMNHEY IS A PHONY.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Matthew, I also trust Ambinder quite a bit. I think it will be a close race. I think Mitt’s GOTV efforts will be better here than in Iowa. Let me rephrase that, they were good in Iowa, but he was swamped by the evangelicAl turnout. If they have put together the same kind of GOTV program in New Hampshire, it could pay dividends. McCain is not employing a GOTV the effort in the same manner. He is trying to use enthusiasm, which can also work.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
#50 Sampo,
So you mean that Hunter is for wasteful spending but McCain is not? That’s vague and subjective. Could you clear this up for me?
January 7th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
OH NO!!! Not another anti-Mormon book!! lol What a bunch of garbage! Who does this guy support? I guess it was Kerry last time! Could be he is just trying to get rid of the most electable Republican.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Hunter to STAY IN THE RACE .. Calls out Fox News and basically Bitchslaps them:
“I’m not going to quit, I’m going to continue. I’m not going to let some arrogant corporate media executive…decide whether or not this campaign is over.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Illinois, this will have no effect. He wanted to sell a book that has been written dozens of times.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Romney has also raised just as much money as Giuliani (excl. Mitt money). He is viable, esp. when he continues to lead the delegate count before 2/5. If Giuliani continues to be downplayed (Rudy is my No. 2) then it will be a good race. Mitt has the money and the org. (which was VERY GOOD in Iowa and should be better in NH!)
January 7th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
for reel?
January 7th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
#73, SGS: DUNCAN IS STAYING IN.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
I know, I was being sarcastic.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Matthew E. Miller-
Don’t worry too much. In early 1980 the polls showed Ronald losing to Jimmy 63% to 32%. Ronny won handily despite the fact that a popular repub ran independent and stole 5% of the vote. Such polls at this stage of the game are not predictive of votes in November.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Hunter still in?
That’s great news.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
If that’s the case, then I think Hunter just dropped in my books. What a lousy media stunt.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
why the announcement then?
January 7th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Hunter = Lukewarm:

McCain = Taxpayer Hero:

Hunter just strikes me as a guy who awards fat defense contracts just because they go to defense.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
ilfigo, do you realize your #81 is a quarter out of date?

Such polls at this stage of the game are not predictive of votes in November.
So true .. Didn’t the MSM tell us for the last 2 years we were looking at a Rudy vs. Hillary race? How’s that working out right about now ?

and duncan is staying in the race. okay everyone, it is okay to resume not caring about duncan hunter.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
a.j. sparxx, that would be the same media that called florida for gore in 2000.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Greg,
Mitt’s GOTV in Iowa was superior. He outpaced his projections significantly. The fact is, he was swamped by a unique set of circumstances here. As has been pointed out, there simply isn’t any comparable demographic.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
Give up the act hunter! No one cares about your campaign. (and they say mccain is the bitter one)
January 7th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Metro what are the new ones then???
January 7th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
ilfigo, we will know in 8 more days. Team Rudy says Mitt’s dumped $40M of his personal fortune the race, and Team Romney has not denied that number.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Some people care about Hunter’s campaign. There’s Duncan Hunter, for one. And he was endorsed by Chuck Yaeger and Ann Coulter! So that’s three.
Today’s announcement was a cheap stunt. I guess the big news was his one delegate from Wyoming. That’s more than McCain and Giuliani combined!
January 7th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
#100
I’ve got to be honest. I saw that ad at the YouTube debacle and was surprised to find out Yeager was still alive.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
hunter’s a great guy, but he needs to let it go already
January 7th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Headline of the Day: Hunter Pulls a Huckabee
January 7th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
At the end of the day, Romney’s self-funding effort will probably not matter too much to voters, but more to the other candidates who do not have the ability to do the same thing. It would be one thing if Romney could not continue otherwise, but he’s shown the ability to raise money also in his campaign. He’s raised more from donors on the Republican side than any other campaign in the race, basically. When he chaired the Republican Governors Association, he helped that organization raise more significantly than any other leader in its history. I’ve said it before - Romney will go all the way to convention because he can, and he wants to win. Forbes and Perot put in millions of their own money, and though they didn’t win, I’m not sure that voters severely punished them for it.
With Bloomberg sitting on the sidelines and reportedly ready to drop $1 billion of his own money on a campaign effort, why complain about Romney? Be worried about Bloomberg. Look, if Huckabee is ready to be the nominee and looks viable, then donors should open their wallets and get his campaign resources up to max. Same with McCain. People shouldn’t diss Romney because he’s a successful guy who’s decided to use his resources to be successful in the campaign, and not beholden to certain interest groups due to funding support.

Thomas, oh, Chuck Yeager as in the man who broke the sound barrier in an airplane? Is it the very same person who endored Hunter? I too thought he died.

Hunter dropping out & endorsing is a big call for someone who wants an Admin slot. What if he backs the wrong horse?
I see him picking McCain, to try and seal the deal for NH (the extra 4 voters should make all the difference) which would swing McCain to the nomination.

I think Duncan Hunter would be the best conservative voice- I am voting for him not who is the most popular or who has a chance of winning- I urge everyone else to do the same- do your research.
