Wow, looks like the Fred vs. Huckabee threads went down in flames…

Yup, I was expecting the plug to be pulled on the tit for tat. I wonder if there’s any disciplinary action involved

The story by the guardian:
“For all that Republicans hate it, McCain may be their man” states that
the Primary in SC is one where independents can vote, but it is a closed
primary is it not?
January 14th, 2008 at 5:24 am
John,
I’m pretty sure I heard Rush Limbaugh say that it was open, but that fat blowhard isn’t exactly an authority on, well, anything.
January 14th, 2008 at 5:28 am
David Leip’s site says it’s closed.

#5,6,7 – since South Carolina does not have party registration, the SC primary is definitely open. Research it yourself – SC does not allow party affiliation.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:55 am
Lucy,
Cool. Thanks. That’s good news for McCain.
January 14th, 2008 at 8:07 am
#9 – and he may be hurt that the dem primary is a week later. Voters may decide to wait and vote in it.
January 14th, 2008 at 8:10 am
10,
Right. But still – some Independents are better for him than none. Even if 75 % of them wait to vote in the Democrat contest.
January 14th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Hello-
Lucy – good point on the SC primary being open…
Adam – likewise – the more indies (and Dems) that vote in the GOP side, the better it is for McCain. He’s going to do well along the coast. Huck and Fred will do better in the more conservative Upstate… and Leip’s site is incredible, isn’t it? He’s been at that for a long time, too… I remember looking up results there back in 2000…

Aron,
There’s an aptly named article on the state of the Giuliani campaign right now… The Giuliani Implosion.
Would you like to include it in your next essential reads?
