“There will always be some people whose vote will be shaped by the faith of the candidate. I don’t think that’s the majority of people in the country. That may play a bigger role in some states than others and I acknowledge that. That’s just part of the American experience. It’s not something I encourage by any means. It’s not something I welcome, obviously in a state like Iowa. But, nonetheless, that’s just the way things are.”
- Romney’s Roll of Thunder
Mitt Romney claims he would have won in Nevada even if the Mormon population didn’t vote at all. “I’m happy to have their support. I wouldn’t want them to be disappointed that I didn’t appreciate their support.”
Mormons make up just 9 percent of the state’s population. However, according to entrance polls, Mormons accounted for 26 percent of Republican caucus-goers. Ninety-five percent of them supported Romney.

I am hearing that Rush Limbaugh will break his self-imposed neutrality on this race and will come out more overtly for his preferred candidates. His brother David came out and endorsed Fred a couple of months ago, and I hear that the two brothers, who are close, confer often about their preferences and agree generally on the broad contours of the race. This could really shake things up as Rush’s influence on the process is unmistakable as was seen in 2000.

Major spin going on in Florida

Boston,
That story has been posted here (or at leaat the study that is the topic matter) plenty of times.

RE: “Romney’s Roll of Thunder”. First, from the blurb just below the link: “Mitt Romney claims he would have won in Nevada even if the Mormon population didn’t vote at all.” This is a ridiculous and blatant attempt at spin. Without Mormon voters, Romney would have still finished with 25-26%, giving him an easy win. There is no need to say “Romney claims” when the facts are indisputable. Second, from the last sentence of the article itself, “Romney was of course the only major candidate to really compete in Nevada.” More spin. Of course?!? Give me a break.

“I am hearing that Rush Limbaugh will break his self-imposed neutrality on this race ”
Rush? Neutral? HA! He’s been trying to derail McCain and the Huckster for weeks. His Fatness failed miserably on Saturday as the two candidates he hates combined to get 63 percent.
