One of the purposes of ARRA is to provide leadership in the Republican party, and as the ‘conservative conscience’ for the party, ARRA recommends the best conservative candidates to vote for coming into Republican primary elections. Conservatives throughout the nation have been in disarray due to a lack of a strong conservative leader in the Republican field. Candidates have been either strong in conservative principle and weak in leadership or strong in leadership but weak in conservative principles.
Perhaps the biggest concern for social and religious conservatives has been the issue of life and family values. But Romney gained monumental momentum from endorsements of the likes of John Wilke, a physician, and president of both the Life Issues Institute, and International Right to Life Federation. Wilke said of Romney, “Unlike other candidates who only speak to the importance of confronting the major social issues of the day, Governor Romney has a record of action defending life …. Every decision he made as Governor was on the side of life. I know he will be the strong pro-life President we need in the White House.” Likewise, Jim Bopp, who has served as legal counsel for numerous pro-life organizations recently endorsed Romney pointing out that, “He vetoed the bill on embryonic stem cell research and some other efforts to liberalize the Massachusetts abortion law.”
The two man race for delegates in Arkansas will require that conservatives vote for Romney. Votes for Huckabee and Paul will serve only to reduce the votes needed by Romney to win over McCain.

BEWARE…………..

This doesnt matter at all Jason? Why even bother posting this crap? I dont think this means that all of a sudden Romney and Huckabee are going to campaign in the state b/c they need to win? This will have no impact on the outcome of the state of Arkansas! Why dont you just make yourself more useful and post all of the poll’s that will come out today showing McCain with insurmountable leads! Thankyou!
February 1st, 2008 at 11:46 am
John,
Thank you, sorry for now on I will only post articles and polls where McCain is winning. Wonderful advice from a true friend.

Wow Randy why don’t you tell us how you really feel.
February 1st, 2008 at 11:48 am
Is that you Johny boy….??? Your back huh?? How is your daddy doing today? Is he going to invite a DEM to be his potential VP candidate, since he was interested in 2004? If McCain wins, is he going to switch parties, like he wanted to do in 2001, just to put the final screw to conservatives?
February 1st, 2008 at 11:49 am
Here comes the pushback…Conservatives need to start fighting…only 3 days left.

February 1st, 2008 at 11:54 am
Apparently McCain supporters have no more class than their candidate.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:10 pm
Randy’s personality = McCain’s personality
Do you get the heydey the MSM is going to have in a couple of weeks? Time to McCream McCorn.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:15 pm
The quality of discourse here is seriously degraded since McCain became the presumptive nominee. It is a sad commentary on McCain’s candidacy that there are his type of supporters. Go back to Kos if you want to have a fourth grade insult-fest.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:19 pm
You don’t bother me any ilfigo. Randy doesn’t speak for many of us.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Who the heck is the ARRA? A small club within the AR GOP.
I thought hearing you guys trumpet the Santorum endorsement was desperate. Now you’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:35 pm
#15 / #17 Ditto. And ditto again.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Randy…WHAAA!! I didn’t cry and throw a tantrum when people bashed Romney, actually I used logic and facts to defend him.
The McCainiacs and those that have jumped aboard cannot defend his record or his actions that are contrary to the Republican standards. All you do is cry and complain. Grow up, grow some balls and try to defend your guy or get off!

It’s good to know that after 10 1/2 years of liberal governance, sensible conservatism has survived in Arkansas. Do we have any recent Arkansas polls? I would guess that after Huckabee raised people’s taxes by 47%, that there might be a few pockets of entrenched resistance.
February 1st, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Just to be clear, the “Arkansas Republican Assembly” is not a group of Republican legislators. It is a tiny group of activists who gave themselves an exalted name.
February 1st, 2008 at 1:06 pm
MWS–Thanks for clearing that up. I was startled for a second. I thought the endoresement sounded more like a fanatic Romney fan rather than an official endorsement. So your explanation makes sense. I’m a Huck supporter–so you can see why my jaw dropped!
February 1st, 2008 at 1:28 pm
MWS,
It’s not that small. Now, if it WAS a group of Republican legislators in Arkansas, THAT would be small.
February 1st, 2008 at 10:45 pm
Jason: Thank you for posting the ARRA endorsement.
MWS: Some may call the ARRA activists, but complete truth is we are active social, moral & fiscal Conservative Arkansans who believe in God, family & country & are working together to strengthen the GOP by upholding the traditional family values & Republican principles & ideals. The ARRA is Caucus group who, unlike the RPA, can endorse candidates. The ARRA membership does include a couple of current and former legislators but for the most part the members are part of the grassroots Republican leadership in their counties many who hold key positions.
The ARRA is a part of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. As a Caucus group we are not a “big tent” group but are committed to conservative principles. It has been the ARRA and not the RPA that has led and taken action and assisted with research on critical issues in Arkansas which has been used by conservatives in both parties. We are proud not to part of liberal RINO wing of the party.
Dave: you are right, the ARRA does have more members than the number of Republican legislators in Arkansas. And we have not been in existence very many year. Unlike some Republicans we support all three legs of the conservative base and not just one. We invite all real conservative Republicans who believe that social conservatism, economic conservatism and national security are all equally important. We may be forced to vote for the best of the remaining choices but we still seek to support and develop true conservatives and not RINOs.
If your not a RINO, you are invited to join us. However, everyone is invited to read “right minded” posts and items at the ARRA News Service http://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/.
