In response to Jason’s post of an anti-McCain YouTube video, I offer this video of Romney, made by the same exact organization that produced the McCain video. Also, I take issue with the statement “This Youtube is making it’s way into activists inboxes all across the nation as we speak.” The anti-McCain video has… brace yourself… 139 views, while this anti-Romney video has 4,796 views. Enjoy.

This is pretty tough. Fred was the true conservative. Huckabee is a pro life liberal. Neither McCain or Romney have perfect conservative records.

Billy, it just started popping up today.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:01 pm
O man. This is a shame. I was this close to admitting the error of my ways and switching my vote to Romney. Now with these damning accusations I feel much better supporting J-Mac.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Adam – you are just one vote – no worries
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Billy, I thought you were more honest than that than to propulgate this filth.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Jeff,
Mitt needs every vote he can get now
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Huckabee is playing spoiler. Huckabee is playing spoiler. Huckabee is playing spoiler.
All of you Rombots need to swear on your political lives that if Mike Huckabee ever runs for anything at any time you will join me in trying to defeat him.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Quack is right. Even though I probably couldn’t vote for him, I definitely Heart Huckabee.

Billy, I thought you were more honest than that than to propulgate this filth.
Why is this filth? Is it incorrect?
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:12 pm
Yeah. It’s not filth. It’s “contrast”. It’s just “contrasting” Romney’s record to what he now says. Nothing wrong with “contrast”, right?
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:15 pm
wow, this video si full of half truths. almost everything they cite were decisions by democrats that he had not power over. we have hashed all of them many times.
the marraige part, well as governor he is bound to enforce the laws, what do they expect him to do? judges, well he was provided a few to pick from with no real choices. as to abortions in healt care plan. that was democrats who put it in not him.
at least mccain’s were not half truths but completly verifiable facts not taken out of context.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Illinois guy, unfortunately, everything in the video is true.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:22 pm
How is Huckabee going to explain this video coming from his campaign?
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:27 pm
As far as the view count — it sometimes takes a bit to update itself, it seems. Check back later and the view count will be more accurate…
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:30 pm
The ad is completely bogus, though, even apart from its anti-gay demagoguery.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:30 pm
It’s a very dishonest ad. It cites a bunch of things that Romney fought hard against, but lost. It claims Romney’s health care reform had tax payer funded abortion, when that was already there, and not supported by Romney. It say’s that Romney appointed one gay justice, but sexual orientation isn’t part of the application process, and shouldn’t be. It say’s he appointed more Democrat justices than Republican, when Mass uses a blind system wher Romney doesn’t see their names. Despite the fact that Romney had an overwhelming majority of Democrats in his pool to get justices, and he couldn’t know their names, just their qualifications, he appointed many more conservatives than the pool he had to pick from.

February 2nd, 2008 at 12:33 pm
This is just more dirty politics from Mike Huckabee’s campaign. He should have been honest enough to put his name on it rather than having it come from his campaign through a 527.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:35 pm
bjalder26,
Would you like a Kleenex my friend?
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:38 pm
And that stuff about firing Justices of the Peace and changing marriage certificates makes sense because gay marriage is legal in Massachusetts which is something that Romney had nothing to do with. If it wasn’t for Mitt, the Commonwealth would have been Gay Las Vegas. He also took the Legislature to court to force them to vote on a ballot referendum and won. Mitt supports the Marriage Amendment that McCain does not.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Dirty politics? What’s dirty about saying the truth? Mitt DID all of these things– where’s the beef with telling the truth???
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Thanks buddy, but it would take more that one Kleenex to wipe the slime off of Mike Hucakbee.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:46 pm
This posting is a disgrace to be on this site. It’s repugnant, full of lies, distortions, and half truths. I say it should be removed now.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
You supporters of this ad are every bit as low as Huckaliar and McLiar. It’s repugnant! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
What’s dirty is that this came from Huckabee’s campaign, yet Huckabee doesn’t take credit for it. Also, it paints a dishonest picture of what really happened.
1) Romney fought hard against gay marriage in Mass, but he lost
2) Romney doesn’t recieve a breifing on the sexual orientation of justice, in fact he doesn’t even know their name when he approves appointments. From what I remember, a committee does most of the work in approving appointments, that’s the way things work in Mass.
3) Romney’s health insurance plan isn’t really mandatory, you just pay more taxes if you don’t sign up – same as all the other republicans plans. Except with Mitt’s plan, he provides ways to prove that you can pay your bills to avoid the tax and the insurance.
4) Romney also fought against the morning after pill.
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/26/national/26romney.html
Is there anybody who will put their reputation on the line to say that this HONESTLY portrays Romney record? Huckabee won’t. Sure this is from somebody on his campaign, but Huckabee isn’t stupid enough to put his name on it.
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
“O man. This is a shame. I was this close to admitting the error of my ways and switching my vote to Romney. Now with these damning accusations I feel much better supporting J-Mac.”
Yeah, Riiiiighttt..
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:52 pm
“This posting is a disgrace to be on this site. It’s repugnant, full of lies, distortions, and half truths.”
True, but they post other candidates ads, why not Huckabee’s dishonest one through a 527?
February 2nd, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Will none of the Huckabee supporters condemn Huckabee for this dishonest negative ad? Even if you believe the BS, shouldn’t you still condemn it because it’s supposedly from a 527 yet put out by somebody on Huckabee’s campaign?
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:00 pm
McCain will get torpedoed by his own finance legislation. The liberals will swift boat him with 527s to no end thanks to his very on campaign finance reform bill. The liberals have more money and more fire in the belly. They’ll do anything to win.
With most conservatives so disheartened by a McCain nomination, the Republicans won’t be strong enough in the general.
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:03 pm
billy, you are shameless and mustnt possess integrity. The video is filled with half truths. The part from gay marriage to tax payer funded abortions was required by the courts.
I wish you would have done what switchback “errrr” Brownback did and just gone away into obscurity.
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Huckabee and his supporters think their guy has a chance at a VP slot. That is hilarious. One thing is for sure, as if a McCain nomination is not bad enough already, the one thing that will compel conservative voters to stay home on election night is a McCain / Huckabee ticket.
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:13 pm
ACTUALLY, the anti-McCain video has 61,000 views as of this morning.

February 2nd, 2008 at 1:47 pm
This is definitely a half truth hit job. I have studied it out and like what TLG and bjalder has said, they are correct on this one. Sorry Billy, you are not correct in saying it is truth.
February 2nd, 2008 at 1:57 pm
It’s kind of foolish to publish non-factual material at this site, because the folks here will verify it. Nice try Billy.
February 2nd, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Not fair. He was a liberal Republican when he did those things. Judge Mitt by what he says today, not yesterday. Conservatives need to unite around this evolving conservative to stop that other guy.
February 2nd, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Update: the voice from this video is Janet Folger, who is co-chair of Mike Huckabee’s Faith and Values Coalition. She is also motivated by fear of “Mormons” growing their church if Mitt Romney is elected President.
It seems to me that Huckabee is blatantly breaking campaign finance reform laws.
February 2nd, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Well Billy, looks like you’re an official member of the “kool-aid express”.
February 2nd, 2008 at 2:51 pm
This is more of the same from Billy. He does not understand that in order to win the general election some of the people that support Romney will need to support John McCain. Talk about lacing the water!
February 2nd, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Billy, I met you in Iowa and thought you seemed like a fine young man. You’re better than this.
February 2nd, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Oh no, Mitt is tolerant of all Americans!
I thought we were all Americans after 9/11. Guess not!
February 2nd, 2008 at 3:45 pm
What’s disturbing is the number of people posting comments here who appear not to have known about these things, or who appear to believe that they didn’t happen. Or who refuse to believe them. This video could have gone a great deal more to expose the Romney campaign, like including video clips of his actual comments, but it’s a start. Although, I suppose, even video clips of Romney using his own words would somehow be portrayed as dishonest and misleading.
February 2nd, 2008 at 4:09 pm
COgamer – No Romney supporter will admit that he wasn’t more moderate in his past, but a half truth is a half truth. This video is blaringly taking guilt by association. What they talk about are facts that happened. What they are dishonest about is that Mitt was directly responsible for them. He was not. John is directly responsible for McCain-Feingold or McCain-Kennedy. Mitt is not responsible for asking judges if they are gay or not. That has nothing to do with the qualifications and skillset of the best person for the job.
Right now I should pull a John or Mike and change the subject since someone is going after Mitt’s record. That is what they would do. Do either of those guys ever answer a question? Even my wife (who is so out of the political spectrum) caught that fact seeing bits and pieces over my shoulder. She watched John’s last debate performance and in her words “can’t believe such an immature, dishonest, childish person is running for president”. I remember a quote from my wife about Mike a few weeks ago after he pulled the ‘going to get free press on my attack ad by showing them as he takes the high ground’ incedent and she said, “that is so squirrly and slimy.”
February 2nd, 2008 at 4:37 pm
This just reeks of desperation on Huckabee’s part. If he really needs some news coverage, he should just have his son torture and kill another dog, or have him try and sneak another loaded glock onto an airplane.
