Actually if you look at my predictions I did give WV to Huckabee. This was a letdown, but it is at least 18 delegates McCain is not getting. This would have been a nice win for Romney though going into tonight.
Hey, fellow lovers of virtue and wisdom, in other good news, his imperious majesty, willard milton romney, has been forced to eat his words about Sen. Dole:
… Mitt Romney backpedaled Tuesday after saying former Sen. Bob Dole is “probably the last person I would have wanted to have write a letter for me.â€
Romney made the remark in response to a letter Dole wrote to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh in defense of Romney rival John McCain.
Romney even tried to call Dole, with no luck, from the plane as he and other candidates criss-crossed the country to campaign while voters in the 24 Super Tuesday states cast their ballots for both parties.
“Let me make it very clear. Senator Dole is an American hero, a war hero, a fine man and a great leader for our party,†Romney said in Charleston, W.Va., where GOP voters were a holding a state convention Tuesday …
Hey - Romney loves caucuses and conventions (after all, he hasn’t won an actual primary yet.) Everyone played by the rules, and Romney lost. Why are you Rombots whining?
On a more serious note, check out this SOLID article from the weekly standard. This is the case I have been trying to make to all you rombots about mccain’s potential to win vs…well romney’s absolute lack of a potential to win in NOV.
Hey, fellow lovers of virtue and wisdom, in other good news, his imperious majesty, willard milton romney, has been forced to eat his words about Sen. Dole.
This is where the politics of destruction leads. Not to mention the fact that this wasn’t the smartest thing to say 3 days before the Kansas Caucuses.
We all know what actually happened in WV. Low. California for Mitt! What? 179 vs 18. I’ll take that any day!
It’s not low. Them’s the rules!
Also, California’s delegates are allotted by district, and the polls indicate that they will probably be split evenly between Mitt and McCain. Romney’s on his way out.
To sum it up, the McCain people saw an opportunity since Mitt didn’t get the majority the first time around, to keep Mitt from getting the delegates. Kudos to them for taking a good strategy since their guy didn’t have a chance after the first vote. They played within the system and gave Mike West Virginia. Kudos to Mike for getting it. It is tough in politics to go 1 against 2 and Mitt learned that blatently in West Virginia.
Huckabee is going to get momentum from this– one of the early east coast states breaking for someone that’s NOT one of the “only two guys in the race”. It’ll be interesting to see how/where this makes a difference.
He’s not backpedaling…McNasty tried to make what Romney said an attack on Dole as a war hero.
Here we go with the War Hero sh– that McSilly likes to play when he’s on the ropes. Also, this only shows that Jim Neighbors and McCain’s people got together at lunch to give it to Huck.
Conservatives!!! It’s a battle of wills for the movement…FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!! It’s 2 against one at this point. The War’s not over only this battle.
The second state for Huckabee and the last state he will win at anything in…Oh…I forgot Arkansas… 3 for 50…
The reason why Huckabee won is because of McCain. For the McCain people, voting for Huckabee was not a vote FOR the man from Hope, but instead a vote AGAINST the man from Boston. Funny thing is that if Huckabee people were in 3rd place, they would have went for Romney (as shown by lots of the polls). Gotta love politics…
Hate to say it, but looks like we are moving back to the party of Ford/Nixon…yikes…
That early newspaper headline certainly can create a false sense of accomplishment for Mike, halfway through Super Tuesday it won’t effect much, but it could push Georgia and Missouri Mikes way which in effect gaurantees John the nomination. If Mike is serious about winning I would love to see his face when the delegates are John 950, Mitt 250, and Mike 250. If Mike is in this to get John the win, then I would like to see his face when John doesn’t choose him for VP or a significant position in his cabinet.
There was no “stunt” like some people are suggesting. Even if the McCain people hadn’t gone to Huckabee this round, Romney would not have gotten the majority he needed. As a result they would have gone to another round - at this point McCain would be removed as an option and his support would have gone to Huckabee.
So what is dirty about this exactly? McCain supporters going to Huckabee, that’s dirty? Why? I don’t understand. It seems like the goal of a McCain supporter would be to .. wait for it … HELP MCCAIN. So that’s what they did.
You think? The man is like Wile E. Coyote. He pulls a stupid stunt, gets smashed and totally humiliated, but in the next scene he’s plotting his next hair-brained scheme using some prop supplied by ACME.
Romney will claim vindication whatever he wins. If he doesn’t win at all he will claim a conspiracy denied him what was justly his.
Romney’s handling this Dole situation poorly, and it goes to alot of misgivings conservatives have had about him. Either stop saying controversial stuff, or stick up for yourself afterwards. That mumbly, namby-pamby press conference where he said something like “I didn’t mean to attack Dole’s character” was awful. Thoroughly awful. He should have said “everyone who’s paying attention recognizes that I said nothing about Dole’s service to this country and John McCain should go suck an egg”. But, that sort of stuff just isn’t in him; he’s practically a professional at defensive responses.
Mitt has spend just shy of $500,000 of his own money for each delegate so far. But hey, he is the only true ‘conservative’ in the race if you disregard his record in Mass.
Romney spent a few days there. What a waste. The man can’t enjoy the liquor and he can’t enjoy the women. And you’ve seen him with fried chicken—yikes! What’s a man like Romney going to do in WV?
VP pick or not, Mike Huckabee will be a stronger spokesman for the religious right than Falwell or Robertson or Dobson ever was. That’s a given and does not depend on McCain choosing him as a running mate. You can bet Huckabee is seeking to strengthen himself in that role.
BTW: Gotta love the way the WV convention collectively Mitt-slapped all those hard-blowing AM radio talk jockeys! Take that, “El Gushbo†Lardbottom!
#38- Yes, McCain and Paul helped Huckabee win, but the average person doesnt know that. All they are going to read is Huckabee wins WV. This is going to give Huckabee atleast AL and GA I predict with a much better chance with the rest of the south.
Rush defended himself better than Romney did today. I understand what Mitt was trying to say but the back-pedaling was not a good idea. We’ll see how this plays out in the end.
I would have liked for Gov Romney to win WV but he didn’t and McCain’s people did what they thought was best for their candidate. Those are the rules and that’s what happened. There are 20 states left to go. Tonight will be a long night.
Ajay - it isn’t dirty, it was just proof that in politics you can’t go 1 on 2. John very smartly pandered to Mike. The divide between Mitt’s followers and John and MIkes followers is very real. John is a professional politician and he has thrown out every trick in the book and it has worked. West Virginia just happens to be the system working within itself and not a trick.
Romney previously said he doesnt want to go back to Reagan Bush. Now he just insulted our 1996 nominee. Basically he has dissed four straight Republican candidates. Sounds like a real solid Republican in my book.
Unfortunately for the republican party, the big section of it will not have a person to vote for in November if McCain wins. If he can’t get the support of the biggest piece of the base, he can’t beat the democrats. Too many conservative leaders are already on record as saying that they will not vote for McCain, plain and simple.
Too many conservative leaders are already on record as saying that they will not vote for McCain, plain and simple.
Yeah, and have you observed how tremendously effective those so-called “leaders” have been this cycle? Apparently there’s a disconnect between the so-called leaders and those they are supposed to lead.
The evangelical voter is pretty close knit. I am sure there are multiple phone calls going through the church lists in the south telling those that haven’t voted that Mike won in West Virginia and there is hope!
Once Romney is out . . who will Romney supporters choose??? McCain or Huckabee.
Judging by the testimonials from our own on-site Choir Rombotic, they’re eager to vote for Hillary, whom they seem to admire deeply, and would probably do so if Romney leaves the race.
Metro - you are correct there, Obama will walk away with the win against John so pray for Hillary to get the democratic nom. John at least has a prayer against her.
Judging by the testimonials from our own on-site Choir Rombotic, they’re eager to vote for Hillary, whom they seem to admire deeply, and would probably do so if Romney leaves the race.
Choir Rombotic?—OMG that’s funny—dude, you are so on today.
I’m a Romney supporter and I won’t be voting for Hillary, but then again I won’t be voting for McCain either. I especially won’t be voting for McCain if Huckabee has a position in his cabinet.
Metro - Well, at least you are smart enough to know how to get through an economic recession (stock up on Ramen noodles). So I am sure you will be fine for the next set of years with our current front runners.
I think Romney voters will go for Huck and root for Obama because according to a head to head poll in Utah, Huck will lose to Obama. UT, the reddest state in the US, will be a blue state. Wouldn’t that be something?
#65 - I will not vote for McCain if he is the nominee - first time ever I won’t vote for a Republican.
I’ll write in my candidate, Mitt Romney, if he doesn’t get the nomination.
If it’s McCain/Huckabee I will work to expose them as the liberals and deceivers that they are.
We will have a miserable four years under a Liberal Democrat president and perhaps that person is, whether it’s Clinton or Obama - like the years of Jimmy Carter, and then the Republicans will look to a conservative like Mitt Romney to come and rescue them.
I do not believe the majority of Romney supporters would support Huckabee under any circumstances. People who are attracted to someone with a corporate executive background and persona are not going to be taken in by a guy that appears to be running a permanent Hee Haw spoof.
Those of you who maintain political blogs check your blog stats. There is more traffic out there than I have ever seen so far this cycle. And yet Romney can still only manage 16% of the buzz share next to Sen. McCain’s 26%, and most of Romney’s 16% is coming from pro-Romney candidate-only blogs.
LOL! Huckabee and McCain supporters band together and gang up on Romney and they still only beat him by a few percentage points. Huckabee’s new rallying cry will be inspiring: “Vote for me: When I get help from the national #1 guy, I can beat the national #2 guy by a few percentage points!”
We will have a miserable four years under a Liberal Democrat president and perhaps that person is, whether it’s Clinton or Obama - like the years of Jimmy Carter, and then the Republicans will look to a conservative like Mitt Romney to come and rescue them.
That’s how we got Ronald Reagan.
OK, then. Be off with you. We’ll see you in 4 or 8 years or whenever another gazillionaire megalomaniac decides to reinvent himself as a conservative and insinuate himself into our highest office.
[...] Mike Huckabee Rocks West Virginia! The first result I have seen so far today (Super Tuesday) is good news for Huckafans. Mike Huckabee has won West Virginia! Race 4 2008 announced these results: [...]

Laugh it up, laugh boy. But your candidate still loses.
#88 You better be careful. Hillary is a 1 termer, but Obama could be a 2-termer. Romney would be too old to back in 2016.
Obama is the candidate that the Founders feared the most and a reason why they decided on a Republic instead of a Democracy (pure). A candidate that can sway the emotional masses and yet have nothing behind it, is someone who should be looked at very carefully. The majority of Obama voters are voting on emotion, little else and once it gets going it is likely that people will have “caught up in the mob” syndrome. Watch out…Repbulicans.
The majority of Obama voters are voting on emotion, little else and once it gets going it is likely that people will have “caught up in the mob†syndrome. Watch out…Repbulicans.
Everyone votes based on emotion. Some candidates are movement candidates, others are establishment candidates, and some are more extreme versions of either. But if they are candidates they are working within the system, a democratic system, a system where people can vote on whatever grounds they want.
KL - lol. I am one of those with a business background and I am scared to death of Mike’s horrible views of economic policy and his comedy driven approach. Does the rest of the world like the beverly hillbillies and Larry the cable guy? Imagine Mike leading our country around the world with that perception.
I would definately vote Hillary over Mike, can you say depression and not recession? John I would have the hardest time in the world voting for and I would have to go into the mountains for a month to meditate the issues that comes with that vote which would be many.
#97 I hope you didn’t think I implied that people don’t vote with any emotion. You are exactly right, however I said “only” emotion with Obama. Some people do look at issues, character and experience.
I understand the system but voting purely on emotion is one of the downsides to Democracy. However, it is the best system we have.
On Fox they just said they talked with McCain people and they were told by the McCain party to make sure they abandon John in West Virginia and vote for Mike to keep Mitt from winning. We knew that was the case, but there was the confirmation that it came directly from the McCain camp to make sure they change their vote to Mike. LOL politics.
Stocks down 320 points. Hugh Hewitt will probably blame Huckabee’s victory in WV on this. Anytime Mitt doesn’t win, the stocks tank, according to Huge.
Saw this in response to Mitt’s loss in West Virginia
Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President Campaign Manager Beth Myers issued the following statement regarding the outcome of West Virginia’s Republican Party convention:
“Unfortunately, this is what Senator McCain’s inside Washington ways look like: he cut a backroom deal with the tax-and-spend candidate he thought could best stop Governor Romney’s campaign of conservative change.
“Governor Romney had enough respect for the Republican voters of West Virginia to make an appeal to them about the future of the party based on issues. This is why he led on today’s first ballot. Sadly, Senator McCain cut a Washington backroom deal in a way that once again underscores his legacy of working against Republicans who are interested in championing conservative policies and rebuilding the party.”
Case - Fortunately, Huckabee has about zero chance of being president. If McCain chose Huckabee as a runningmate, I am confident they would lose. McCain’s only chance is to choose a runningmate that is much more palatable than himself AND be running against Clinton. If Obama gets the nomination, I cannot imagine circumstances (other than anohter attack on the homefront) in which that petulant, grumpy old man can beat Obama’s charisma and demeanor.
“But before Huckabee’s surprising turnaround in the second round, McCain delegates told FOX News they had been instructed by the campaign to throw their support to Huckabee.
McCain delegate John Vuolo said former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer approached him and other McCain supporters at the convention and told them he had spoken to McCain, and that the best thing to do was to support Huckabee in the hope that Huckabee could beat Romney in this winner-take-all state.”
KL - I don’t like John, but I really do not like Mike because growing up I was caught watching a Chuck Norris movie and was made fun of my whole junior high years. JK. I hope you’re right about Mike because his political views on the economy are so bad that I am happy I still have 9 months to get a 4 year collection of food storage, a mattress full of cash, and good tent.
MarkG - LOL. I am guessing it was hard to compliment anyone after the throw up in their mouth after Johns inteliigent maneuver. That’s one of those moments in politics you can’t predict. A state leaning Mitt, turned John by a bit of luck and political deal cutting.
Sad that we can’t affirm WV’s choice. Have you ever considered that Ron Paul’s supporters might have tipped the balance? Romney got a 6 pt bumps from someone, but it probably wasn’t Paul supporters. I’ve interacted with many of them and many of them indicate that Huckabee is their second choice.
There are all kinds of theories, but if Huckabee and McCain are close in states like Alabama, where Romney is third, this could actually cause Huckabee to win them instead of McCain which would suppress McCain’s delegate count. That would be ironic if his stunt helping Huckabee comes back to hurt him.
Clarence - I believe Mitt is hoping that is the case. Mitt needs to keep John below 700 delegates and Mike takes some of them certainly is one way to do that. Not Mitt’s first choice, but he’ll take it because John getting over 700 will be nearly impossible to overcome.

A good start, surely.

Oh, and Chapeau! to all the Huckaboppers!

No worries…this only muddles the campaign for McGrumpy.

I voted for Huckabee today (Illinois) because……….

Jonathan,
“This could make some of those Southern states break for the Huckster. He might have a really good night”
That’s my hope. Polls out recently in OK, AL, GA, and TN suggest Huck may be getting a last minute surge.
Romney voters in the South should have traded votes with Huckabee voters in California.

February 5th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Ajay - it isn’t dirty, it was just proof that in politics you can’t go 1 on 2. John very smartly pandered to Mike. The divide between Mitt’s followers and John and MIkes followers is very real. John is a professional politician and he has thrown out every trick in the book and it has worked. West Virginia just happens to be the system working within itself and not a trick.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Romney previously said he doesnt want to go back to Reagan Bush. Now he just insulted our 1996 nominee. Basically he has dissed four straight Republican candidates. Sounds like a real solid Republican in my book.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
#37 - “Once Romney is out . . who will Romney supporters choose??? McCain or Huckabee.”
D. None of the above.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Unfortunately for the republican party, the big section of it will not have a person to vote for in November if McCain wins. If he can’t get the support of the biggest piece of the base, he can’t beat the democrats. Too many conservative leaders are already on record as saying that they will not vote for McCain, plain and simple.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
civic _
i will buy the second round! i cannot wait to see more state results
i was literally on my knees in prayer as the wv results were read
February 5th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Why would McCain supporters support Romney after McCain was taken off the ballot?
It was very clear McCain wasn’t going to make it to the next ballot.
Romney supporters stop thumb sucking. California is yet to vote and you guys look strong there.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
37 - UA
“Once Romney is out . . who will Romney supporters choose??? McCain or Huckabee.”
I’ve been toying with Paul for a few days now… but I shouldn’t give in to such thoughts yet.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
I doubt many voters in Alabama and Georgia even know there was a convention in WV today, let alone who won it, and with who’s help.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Yeah, and have you observed how tremendously effective those so-called “leaders” have been this cycle? Apparently there’s a disconnect between the so-called leaders and those they are supposed to lead.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
One thing we should all be united on is whom to root for in the race that is now neck-and-neck. We should all be rooting for Hillary today.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
It’s starting to look like I might be following James Dobson’s lead and sitting home on my couch watching reruns come November.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
It will be a very very long night. California doesn’t even close until 11:00 Eastern. We won’t know until 1:00 am tommorrow. Bring the coffee
February 5th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
The evangelical voter is pretty close knit. I am sure there are multiple phone calls going through the church lists in the south telling those that haven’t voted that Mike won in West Virginia and there is hope!
February 5th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Judging by the testimonials from our own on-site Choir Rombotic, they’re eager to vote for Hillary, whom they seem to admire deeply, and would probably do so if Romney leaves the race.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
71 - But McCain has a better chance against Hill… I’m so torn…
February 5th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Metro - you are correct there, Obama will walk away with the win against John so pray for Hillary to get the democratic nom. John at least has a prayer against her.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Wish I had a horse in this race. I think I’m holding a defeat party tonight, because a defeat is guaranteed.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Choir Rombotic?—OMG that’s funny—dude, you are so on today.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
On #71. Yes, I am very worried about Obama being the democratic version of Reagan.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
I’m a Romney supporter and I won’t be voting for Hillary, but then again I won’t be voting for McCain either. I especially won’t be voting for McCain if Huckabee has a position in his cabinet.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
#64, telling
February 5th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
The Democratic race will go to the convention. Their absurd proportional system makes it hard for anyone to want to quit.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Metro - Well, at least you are smart enough to know how to get through an economic recession (stock up on Ramen noodles). So I am sure you will be fine for the next set of years with our current front runners.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
I think Romney voters will go for Huck and root for Obama because according to a head to head poll in Utah, Huck will lose to Obama. UT, the reddest state in the US, will be a blue state. Wouldn’t that be something?
February 5th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Sounds like fun. Will there be chicks?
February 5th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
I would love to see Huckabee lose to Obama in Utah.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
#65 - I will not vote for McCain if he is the nominee - first time ever I won’t vote for a Republican.
I’ll write in my candidate, Mitt Romney, if he doesn’t get the nomination.
If it’s McCain/Huckabee I will work to expose them as the liberals and deceivers that they are.
We will have a miserable four years under a Liberal Democrat president and perhaps that person is, whether it’s Clinton or Obama - like the years of Jimmy Carter, and then the Republicans will look to a conservative like Mitt Romney to come and rescue them.
That’s how we got Ronald Reagan.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Like I said I will vote Libertarian party for President if McCain is the nominee.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
I do not believe the majority of Romney supporters would support Huckabee under any circumstances. People who are attracted to someone with a corporate executive background and persona are not going to be taken in by a guy that appears to be running a permanent Hee Haw spoof.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Those of you who maintain political blogs check your blog stats. There is more traffic out there than I have ever seen so far this cycle. And yet Romney can still only manage 16% of the buzz share next to Sen. McCain’s 26%, and most of Romney’s 16% is coming from pro-Romney candidate-only blogs.

February 5th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
LOL! Huckabee and McCain supporters band together and gang up on Romney and they still only beat him by a few percentage points. Huckabee’s new rallying cry will be inspiring: “Vote for me: When I get help from the national #1 guy, I can beat the national #2 guy by a few percentage points!”
February 5th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
OK, then. Be off with you. We’ll see you in 4 or 8 years or whenever another gazillionaire megalomaniac decides to reinvent himself as a conservative and insinuate himself into our highest office.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
[...] Mike Huckabee Rocks West Virginia! The first result I have seen so far today (Super Tuesday) is good news for Huckafans. Mike Huckabee has won West Virginia! Race 4 2008 announced these results: [...]
February 5th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Laugh it up, laugh boy. But your candidate still loses.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
#88 You better be careful. Hillary is a 1 termer, but Obama could be a 2-termer. Romney would be too old to back in 2016.
Obama is the candidate that the Founders feared the most and a reason why they decided on a Republic instead of a Democracy (pure). A candidate that can sway the emotional masses and yet have nothing behind it, is someone who should be looked at very carefully. The majority of Obama voters are voting on emotion, little else and once it gets going it is likely that people will have “caught up in the mob” syndrome. Watch out…Repbulicans.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Everyone votes based on emotion. Some candidates are movement candidates, others are establishment candidates, and some are more extreme versions of either. But if they are candidates they are working within the system, a democratic system, a system where people can vote on whatever grounds they want.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
February 5th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
#97 I hope you didn’t think I implied that people don’t vote with any emotion. You are exactly right, however I said “only” emotion with Obama. Some people do look at issues, character and experience.
I understand the system but voting purely on emotion is one of the downsides to Democracy. However, it is the best system we have.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
On Fox they just said they talked with McCain people and they were told by the McCain party to make sure they abandon John in West Virginia and vote for Mike to keep Mitt from winning. We knew that was the case, but there was the confirmation that it came directly from the McCain camp to make sure they change their vote to Mike. LOL politics.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Sorry, for clarification, Fox reporters spoke with McCains people in West Virginia that had first voted for John in the state caucus.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
This politics is a tough, hard, passionate business, but God you got to love it.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Stocks down 320 points. Hugh Hewitt will probably blame Huckabee’s victory in WV on this. Anytime Mitt doesn’t win, the stocks tank, according to Huge.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
So in summary, because John told their guys to vote Mike then I would say that Mike didn’t win West Virginia. John definately won West Virginia.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
I thought someone said that once the market hears that huck won, it will recover? It only got worse.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
February 5th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Case - Fortunately, Huckabee has about zero chance of being president. If McCain chose Huckabee as a runningmate, I am confident they would lose. McCain’s only chance is to choose a runningmate that is much more palatable than himself AND be running against Clinton. If Obama gets the nomination, I cannot imagine circumstances (other than anohter attack on the homefront) in which that petulant, grumpy old man can beat Obama’s charisma and demeanor.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
This is from the foxnews website.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Politics as usual. Is that what we really want? I guess so. Mike Huckabee has no pride at all if he touts this win. How disappointing.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
KL - I don’t like John, but I really do not like Mike because growing up I was caught watching a Chuck Norris movie and was made fun of my whole junior high years. JK. I hope you’re right about Mike because his political views on the economy are so bad that I am happy I still have 9 months to get a 4 year collection of food storage, a mattress full of cash, and good tent.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Impressive press release. Good to see Mitt’s campaign is as revolting as the candidate, without even the graciousness to congratulate the winner.
Romney’s deeply held sense of entitlement overwhelms.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
MarkG - LOL. I am guessing it was hard to compliment anyone after the throw up in their mouth after Johns inteliigent maneuver. That’s one of those moments in politics you can’t predict. A state leaning Mitt, turned John by a bit of luck and political deal cutting.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Romney’s claim was just proven.
Headline should read: McCain Cheats, Huckabee Wins
Huckabee. Are American’s becoming that oblivious? Apparently!
February 5th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Sad that we can’t affirm WV’s choice. Have you ever considered that Ron Paul’s supporters might have tipped the balance? Romney got a 6 pt bumps from someone, but it probably wasn’t Paul supporters. I’ve interacted with many of them and many of them indicate that Huckabee is their second choice.
February 5th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
How will Smuckabee feel when McCain does not pick him as the VP candidate…
February 5th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
There are all kinds of theories, but if Huckabee and McCain are close in states like Alabama, where Romney is third, this could actually cause Huckabee to win them instead of McCain which would suppress McCain’s delegate count. That would be ironic if his stunt helping Huckabee comes back to hurt him.
February 5th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
The dynamics of the South and Missouri are as follows:
Alabama: McCain/Huckabee race
Georgia: three-way race
Missouri: three-way race
Tennessee: three-way race
Arkansas: safe Huckabee
Oklahoma: McCain heavily favored; Huckabee has a chance
February 5th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Really dirty pool. This just confirms my having no respect whatsoever for McLiar, and McHuckliar. They are lower that whale poop.
February 5th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
sad day for the rombots.
February 5th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
After today, I cannot think of a better example of a “TOOL” than Huckabee. What a joke!!
February 5th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Clarence - I believe Mitt is hoping that is the case. Mitt needs to keep John below 700 delegates and Mike takes some of them certainly is one way to do that. Not Mitt’s first choice, but he’ll take it because John getting over 700 will be nearly impossible to overcome.
February 6th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
he is not going to win. obamo is going to win
