Not only does Obama win WA, NE, LA, ME, and VA, he easily beats Hillary in Maryland as well. I’ll take Obama as the Democratic Nominee for $500, Alex:
Survey USA Maryland Democrat Primary
- Obama - 52%
- Clinton - 33%
And who would’ve guessed, but McCain is set to completely embarrass Huckabee there, too:
Survey USA Maryland Republican Primary
- McCain - 56%
- Huckabee - 17%
- Paul - 10%

I am just glad Huckabee is there to represent movement lap dogs.

I’m glad Paul is there to represent the Constitution.
At least I will get to cast my vote in good conscience come March 4th, and my name will go down as having voted for the man who could have spared us the disaster that is so assuredly coming.

Strong numbers for John McCain. Strengthens his claim to being the full party’s nominee, since it appears that most of Romney’s supporters have gone to McCain - though a few do appear to have gone to Ron Paul, interestingly enough. I respect Mike Huckabee, but I have no idea why he wants to suffer a string of embarrassing losses. Does anyone know how KS is looking? Do you think he has a chance there?

Diane - “Strengthens his claim to being the full party’s nominee”
That happens by default when the other contendors are mathematically eliminated. It is much less a statement about the GOP’s pleasure in a John McCain nomination to say the least.

On Charlie Rose tonight a reporter related this interesting campaign tidbit. Mark McKinnon (McCain’s media guy) told McCain early in the campaign that if Obama were the nominee he would not run negative ads against Obama. And he wanted McCain to join Obama in a series of great debates around the country. Richard Land chimed in that, for the sake of the country, he preferred Obama as the dem nominee because it would be a positive general election campaign focused on the future. With Clinton, he opined, it would be an election about the past.

Yea i am with the McCain Campaign as a Super Volunteer and i am communicating with the Field Director for McCain in Kansas and he says the Kansas Republican Party is pretty much split btwn Moderate and Very Strong Social Conservatives, but he thinks that McCain will win among Moderates and get some of the Conservatives and may win by about 5 percent, but he does think it will be close. But Kansas is similiar to Iowa, there are alot of strong Social Conservatives in that state, very strong, so if Huck can get them out to vote, he may do well, but that is the last state i believe he has a chance.

Also i was told that Huck had 2 Rally’s in Kansas today that drew crowds close to 2000 supporters, so if thats true then he may do very well tommorow in there Caucus’s, especially since it is a caucus and not many people will show up, so Huck may have some success i believe.

I’ll say it again… look for interesting results out of WA. No promises, just saying.

this site has more or less gone dead. the reason: we had enthusiastic rudy people, fredheads, romney fans, huck people, and ron paul revolutioners. but aside from the posters and a few bandwagon jumpers, no one on this site was really that into mccain. im sure a lot of us will vote for him, but he didn’t and doesnt excite people. you could say he’s earned it, or you werent that happy with the field as a whole, but people just arent pumped for mccain. they are super pumped for obama. mccain had really hope hillary pulls this off, because he could take her. he cant take obama.

#9 what makes you say that? I have surveyusa obama 50 clinton 45. Given Obama’s caucus record, I’m liable to think Obama will win WA.

Yeah, um, Matt C, does this really surprise you? Baltimore? Hello? This set of primaries is good for Obama, but this may be his last shot to gain big momentum, because it’s gonna be Clinton territory after this, including the big primaries at the beginning of March. As Karl Rove said: Obama’s big opportunities are mostly behind him.
The question will be whether Hillary can hold onto her advantages in those primaries for a month.
February 9th, 2008 at 8:29 am
TLG, forget Baltimore what about PG County. That’s the wealthiest black county in the USA. In a Democratic primary, PG County usually makes up a little less than 1/4th of the votes.
February 9th, 2008 at 9:07 am
And those two together should make an Obama win in Maryland about as surprising as an Obama win in Georgia, Matt C.

I think Huck stays in until he passes Romney in delegates. He wants to finish second. Or, he may think that staying in helps him get the veep job which appears to me to be unlikely. I am guessing the only way he gets the Veep is if his able to mount a strong challenge to McCain proving to McCain that he needs Huckabee to solidy social conservatives. That was what the Dobson endorsement was all about. It was Dobson saying, don’t forget about us! If it were me, I would use my remaining cash and campaign for about two months in the US Virgin Islands. I don’t think they have voted yet??? I would work super hard nailing down the votes of those nice women in bikinis that fetch my Pina Coladas. It might not get me to 1191 delegates but it might set me up for a nice stint as the ambassador to warm island nation.
