Cuban Flag Hangs Proudly in Obama Campaign Office

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI kid you not… Obama doesn’t care to wear the American Flag on the campaign trail, but the Cuban Flag is proudly displayed in his campaign office:

Newsbusters has the scoop:

Democrat Presidential candidate Barack Obama already has an issue with wearing American Flag lapel pins, and even with putting his hand over his heart when the American National Anthem is playing. It will be interesting to see how he’ll react (if at all) to the flag hanging in one of his new campaign offices in Houston, Texas.

Yep, that’s right — that is the national flag of Cuba hanging on the wall with none other than Che Guevara superimposed on it.

  2. Zach Mayo Says:

    That’s… disturbing.

  3. Nathan Says:

I’m sure he has nothing to do with it and if he’s smart, that will be down tomorrow. It sure does tell us something about his supporters though.

  4. Abe Says:

    SCARY…….STUFF!!!!

    If not ROMNEY….Then a REPUBLICAN must win…..

(I just don’t think McCain can do it….)

  5. ThatLibertarianGuy Says:

Nathan, Obama’s most ardent support comes from the far left.

That could kill him in the general, especially since he’s running against a real unifier with real accomplishments to his name.

  6. Abe Says:

    TLG………the Sarcasm is all of a sudden…..

    Ooozing out of my computer….

  7. Joseph D. Walch Says:

Obama must be stopped. I read part of the ‘official’ party biography of Che Guevarra while staying in Chontales Nicaragua. Very patriotic, until you realized that he moved his office so that he could personally witness all the executions taking place in Cuba at the time. He was a maniac.

It’s a shame people don’t really know what he stood for: totalitarian socialism. I don’t think it’s any wonder that the blind youth wear T-Shirts with him or carry bags with Chairman Mao’s face. Perhaps they are thinking of a different kind of “cultural revolution” from the one that Chairman Mao carried out.

Garbage. Kavon you are showing your Iranian roots by a propoganda campaign befitting your hero the Ayatollah.

Holy crap. I didn’t really care about lapelpingate (I think that flag worship is a form of anti-American fascism), but this is just creepy.

  14. Axel G. (Independent) Says:

Its silly to even think Obama knows what people are hanging in obscure offices in TX. He’s been in the DC region. And is there any actual proof this is an Obama office? If this site is going to turn into a Nixonian dirty tricks site I think hits will only continue to plummet.

  15. quality ingredients Says:

… I read part of the ‘official’ party biography of Che Guevarra …

I have Che’s tedious little book on guerrilla warfare. Ironic that Che wrote a book about guerrilla warfare when he himself was so horribly bad at it.

Obama for his part is the follower of a far more successful radical organizer, Saul Alinsky.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/01/obamas_alinsky_jujitsu.html

Alinsky’s 2 books, Reveille for Radicals and Rules for Radicals should be required reading for any political organizer whether left, right, or center.

If you want to understand Sen. Obama, read these 2 short books.

  16. Josiah Says:

I’m actually pretty surprised by how surprised everyone is that Barack Obama has Latino supporters who admire Che Guevara and display Cuban flags.

The real surprise here is the fact that John McCain and Barack Obama both have the same policy that will lead this Republic to total collapse in the not so distant future: spending more money than we have, borrowing money we can’t afford to pay back, and taxing the middle class out of existence by inflating the money supply. Whether or not Barack Obama would do this a little bit more than John McCain is a minor detail.

  17. quality ingredients Says:

If this site is going to turn into a Nixonian dirty tricks site I think hits will only continue to plummet.

How do we attract all these whiny post-nannies?

  18. grandma T Says:

I watched the video and the little picture to the left of the flag is an Obama picture. YIKES

  19. quality ingredients Says:

To 16. Yes. Yes. I know. (Yawn.) Now that Romney’s gone we’re all doomed. Oh, how could we have been so dumb etc., etc.

That aside, please explain this line:

… and taxing the middle class out of existence by inflating the money supply …

  20. Josiah Says:

    quality #17,

Axel’s actually right there. The quality of this blog’s reporting has been incredibly sloppy ever since Super Tuesday. The bloggers have been missing polls and big stories left and right, not to mention the fact that Kavon has so far neglected to correct the false thread that says Ron Paul dropped out of the race, after politely bringing it to his attention several times.

This site is going downhill fast.

  21. SGSFromLaptop Says:

Are we sure that is a superimpose of Che? It does look like Obama himself!

  22. Josiah Says:

    quality #19,

Romney? Romney would have been even WORSE than John McCain on spending! Heck no!

People don’t seem to understand this, but there is a hidden tax that nobody likes to talk about, and it goes unchallenged by both Republicans and Democrats. It’s called inflation. When the federal government doesn’t have enough money to pay for whatever it is they want, they have a nasty habit of simply asking the Federal Reserve to print up more dollar bills. Well, when we do this, it literally causes the value of the money in your own wallet to decrease. It is simply another form of transfer of wealth from your pockets to the federal government’s pockets, and the middle class is unable to keep up with the increases in the cost of living.

This is exactly the way that all great nations and empires end.

  23. quality ingredients Says:

This site is going downhill fast.

Ron Paul is still in the race?

  24. JayPe Says:

I must confess I don’t believe this post. It smacks of dirty tricks. Do people really think Obama would be this stupid? Honestly, give the guy some credit for intelligence.

Are people really this dumb? I guess many SC residents believed that McCain had fathered an illegitimate black child in 2000 – so maybe people really are…

  25. quality ingredients Says:

Romney? Romney would have been even WORSE than John McCain on spending! Heck no!

    Please forgive me.

I agree with you about inflation, and that we’re probably on the verge of hyper inflation because of (a) supply shocks like the price of petroleum products, (b) the latest credit bubble collapse (the subprime crap etc.), and (c) the costs of paying for this war. What is Dr. Paul’s solution?

  26. econ grad stud Says:

Che Guevara is the far left’s equivalent of a Founding Father.

The far left is as kooky as the far right. They just happen to control their image through the media and academia.

  27. Josiah Says:

    quality #23,

Yes. Ron Paul sent out an email the other day saying that now that Super Tuesday is out of the way, he will be slimming up his campaign. It got misreported as “Ron Paul is dropping out,” Kavon posted it on the blog following a tip (that Kavon failed to double-check with the actual campaign itself) from Eric Dondero (who is a disgruntled former employee of Ron Paul’s who was basically put out, and has been desperately trying to bring down Paul’s campaign for the past several months).

The Paul campaign itself even published a statement saying the drop-out story is false and they are still in it: http://people.ronpaul2008.com/campaign-updates/2008/02/09/this-candidate-doesnt-quit/

  28. quality ingredients Says:

Che Guevara is the far left’s equivalent of a Founding Father.

The only revolutionary worth reading is Leon Trotsky, but academics hate Trotsky almost as much as they hate Leo Strauss.

  29. quality ingredients Says:

The Paul campaign itself even published a statement saying the drop-out story is false and they are still in it

Thank you kindly for the update.

  30. Josiah Says:

    quality #25,

Dr. Paul’s solution to the inflation issue is, first of all, to end the unconstitutional and irresponsible spending that’s causing the demand for inflation in the first place; second of all, to restore transparency to the workings of our monetary policy (televising federal open market committee hearings and requiring the Fed to continue to make publically available weekly information on the measure of the M3 monetary aggregate and its components would be a good start); and third of all, to return value to our money by legalizing gold and silver as a competing currency.

Other things we can do to help save our economy are passing massive tax cuts, repealing Sarbanes-Oxley, and slashing costly federal regulations.

  33. JayPe Says:

Dr Paul is still in the race, but I’m afraid he doesn’t have much of a strategy to win here.
    I think its something like:
    - the day before the Texas primary, McCain & Huckabee drop dead.
    - Paul wins Texas primary.
    - Paul moves into the lead based on other states, as Romney has gone on holiday to recover from two years of campaigning and doesn’t get back in time to pick up the slack.
    - At the convention, the McCain & Huckabee backers support Paul to stop Romney winning the nomination.

Its technically possible. Not sure what Intrade has at the moment on a Paul nomination, but I bet its lengthy odds!

  34. Josiah Says:

    JayPe #33,

Dr. Paul won’t win the Republican Party nomination, but as Quality Ingredient’s man Trotsky said: “This Revolution is permanent.”

Those who support Paul will continue to try to persuade others to demand, on penalty of voting Constitution Party perhaps, that John McCain (who will be the GOP nominee) cut federal spending by at least 12 digits, cut taxes, stop the irresponsible borrowing, and restore transparency to our monetary policy. Dr. Paul may not be in the Oval Office in 2009, but his policies must be.

  35. Eric Dondero Says:

Ron Paul can not “officially” drop out of the race, for he would have to then close down the money raising machine. And with Ron Paul it’s always about the money.

As to Josiah’s lies, I’m not a former “disgruntled employee.” In fact, Ron and I remained friends after I left his employ in 2004. For months after he’d still call me to talk gardening and to check on his banana trees which are still in my backyard.

It was only after his idiotic statement in that Fox debate last May, where he blamed the United States for the attacks of 9/11 that I turned on him.

As evidence, please check the archives of my Blog at http://www.libertarianrepublican.blogspot.com for an article I wrote about him when he first announced that was moderately supportive of his candidacy.

  36. Sean P Says:

#14: So let me get this straight — you impugn Kavon’s motives in the single most racist post I have read on this site — and now you want to cry about dirty tricks? Give me a break.

  37. Eric Dondero Says:

One of Obama’s Republican Illinois Senate colleagues once said of him, “Nice guy, but he had a voting record in Illinois to the left of Mao Tse Tung.” The National Journal just rated BHO as the “most liberal/socialist” member of the US Senate with a perfect 100 leftwing voting record. But boy he looks good in a suit, has a pleasant looking family and gives a great speech.

Always remember, totalitarian mass-murderer Pol Pot had a smiley face too.

  38. Josiah Says:

    Eric,

How are you NOT a disgruntled former employee? Let’s see: First of all, you are a former employee. Second of all, you are disgruntled (i.e. “displeased and discontented; sulky; peevish,” which you are the very definition of). Therefore you are a disgruntled former employee.

Oh, and in case there’s still any question.

Ron Paul (referring to Eric Dondero): “He’s a disgruntled former employee”

And, yes, it’s allllwwayyys about the money with Ron Paul. He’s just such a greedy old Scrooge. What, with, refusing to take part in the congressional pension program on principle, returning a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. Treasury every year, and having never allowed his campaign to go into debt. Yeah, and Eric’s idol Romney isn’t about the money at all. Give me a break.

Eric is so blinded by his disdain for his former boss that he doesn’t even believe the CIA itself when they talk about “blowback.”

  42. MWS Says:

    Eric,

Why do you suppose that New York City was attacked and not Stockholm, Zurich, or Oslo?

  43. ThatLibertarianGuy Says:

It was only after his idiotic statement in that Fox debate last May, where he blamed the United States for the attacks of 9/11 that I turned on him.

Well, he’s correct. He understands why we’re attacked, but I disagree with his policy responses to it.

Why the hell do you think we were attacked, Eric, if not for our foreign policy?

It doesn’t mean that the policy is wrong — detach yourself from such questions. It’s just a question of: are we attacked for our foreign policy? Yes or no.

    We are.

  44. SGSFromLaptop Says:

MWS (#42) – Huh? What of London, Madrid, Bali and Paris?!? Just because it did not happen in a few cities out htere does not mean it is not happening out there. It is happening! The terrorists just do not have the manpower to attack EVERY SINGLE CITY in the western world!

  45. SGSFromLaptop Says:

TLG (#43) I won’t argue with you concerning the radical Islamic, as you have proved yourself to be very knowledgable about it. However, I am curious what you think of this article? This article basically covers the findings of the Jewish journalist who actually interviewed many of the top Jiharist leaders from different groups. It seems from this article that they will have attack us regardless of our Middle East policy or our alliance with Israel. They may not do it as soon as they are doing it right now, but they eventually will get around to it.

  46. Kevin Says:

Seriously. Can anyone honestly say that if we didn’t have troops in Saudi Arabia, and funneled billions into Israel that we would have STILL been attacked? Doubtful.

  47. Jonathan Says:

#46, Hell yeah. The Islamic radicals hate our way of life, not just our foreign policy. They despise the very ideas we stand for. Our freedom of religion, the rights of women, and our faith in the decency of humanity is why they hate us, not just our foreign policy of the last ten years.

  48. Yogi Says:

Kevin. Do you think that the islamofacists will bother us when we finish crushing them?

  49. Axel G. (Independent) Says:

I don’t believe for a second that 9/11 happened because “they hate our way of life.” This republic has stood for over 200 years and Islam has obviously existed much longer, but yet this conflict did not begin until we meddled in their politics and affairs. We supported the Shah leading to the hostage crisis. We put troops in Lebanon and they blew up the barracks. We’ve supported every non-soviet backed dictator in the middle east (and just about everywhere else) while also supporting Isreal. Going into Iraq has only made the problem worse because it has assured that we will get hit again.

  50. Jonathan Says:

#49 These radicals have meddled in our politics for a long time. It was in 1801 that old Tom Jefferson sent the Navy to crush the Barbary Pirates in Tripoli

  51. Kevin Says:

49, BINGO. Not until the creation of Israel did Arabs ever start to hate the United States.

Jews? Sure. Americans, no, not really.

  52. Kevin Says:

    47, you’re buying Bush’s schlock. It’s not raw hate, it’s spurred hate.

  53. MWS Says:

We need to be careful about writing of the motivations of “the jihadists” or “the terrorists” or the “radicals” as if they think with one brain. Can we find terrorists and wackos who would want to destroy America even if no American ever left American soil? I’m sure we could. Some are no doubt motivated by unbridled hate that will not subside unless we are annihilated. But what gives the terrorists their STRENGTH, is the widespread fear and loathing of the US on the “Arab street,” which is NOT fueled by existential hatred, but by American policy. THIS is where terrorists get their money, recruits, and passive support (for instance not cooperating with those hunting the terrorists down).

We make those terrorists who would attack America no matter what far more popular through our policies of interference, and THAT is what they need to fuel their movement.

  54. SGSFromLaptop Says:

Axel #49 You may want to read at the link I provided in #45. Again, the article provided a summary of the book as written by Orthodox Jewish journalist living in Israel who ACTUALLY interviewed many of the top leaders from various groups, like Hamas. The article touches on some of the answers from those top leaders on why they are going against Israel and Western countries. For example, do you know that those radical Muslims WON’T ACKNOWLEDGE that the Israeli have ever lived in Palestine region over 2 thousands years ago? They are denying all evidences that Israeli have ever lived there. Does it sound like a problem with foreign policy to you?

  55. MWS Says:

    SGS,

My point is that we need to distinguish between the motives of some of the terrorist leaders, and their supporters on the street who make their work possible. No doubt there are wild eyed nihilists who just want to kill, but I don’t think that accurately describes the bulk of the people who prop these crazies up- through their donations, volunteering, and non-cooperation with anti-terrorism efforts. The question is, would these crazies have the support they need to continue if we weren’t constantly interfering in the internal affairs of other countries?

This is scarey! This man, Obama, is dangerous. He is responsible for what goes on in these offices. He must be watched closely. However, at the present no one can ask him any questions because the blacks and liberals get upset. He needs to have his beliefs scrutinized, after all, he is running for the President of the United States not Homecoming King. Somebody needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Once he gets in, it will be too late.
