The Florida Democratic Party has refused to revote and aren’t going to be able to send delegates to the Democratic Convention in Denver.
Even if the DNC caves at the last minute we’re going to have months where the DNC is stiffing the Democrats of Florida. At the same time Nancy Pelosi has implicitly backed Barack Obama. Hillary’s only going to become the nominee if she destroys the Party.
In either event Florida is now taken off the table.

Unless Obama puts Senator Nelson or Former Senator Grahm on the ticket it over……….Boy the Hillary people will be upset if she is let say 60,000 votes behind in the popular count without FL knowing she would win the state by 200,000 votes or so in a fair primary given it close primary on the demos of the State.

“Nancy Pelosi has implicitly backed Barack Obama”
Can anyone say queen bee syndrome?

Perhaps the GOP should offer to seat the DNC delegates in M/SP - what are a couple hundred votes for Clinton as the nominee?
Maybe we could pick up a few Democratic voters who feel snubbed.

I agree, Paul — without a re-vote in Florida, it becomes very difficult for Hillary to claim a win in the popular vote. It would take a massive win in PA, which will happen only if Obama completely collapses.
I’m not sure if I believe the stories about Republicans helping Hillary win in Texas and Ohio, but just in case, I hope Rush tells his listeners in PA to vote for Obama.

It is terrible that Florida and Michigan even considered a revote. They broke the party rules.
They knew what they were doing. Just because its a close election doesn’t mean they deserve to
vote again. The DNC needs to stand by there own rules. Anything other than that would be unfair.

PA is a closed primary.

What about the people who live in Florida? Even though they’re Democrats, it does pain one to think that there are people whose votes aren’t counted because the great Dr. Dean siad so.

I have to say, I’ve never 100% bought the argument that voters would abandon the Dems in droves because the convention didn’t seat their delegates. You really think Dems are going to sit home and allow what they perceive as Bush’s third term to occur? Maybe independents who voted in the Dem primary, I guess.

Act,
Your idea has some initial appeal, until you remember the GOP stripped half the delegates from those same states for breaking the rules as well.

Those delegates will more than likely be seated - McCain won FL, and if he says “seat them”, they will be seated. I also find it highly unlikely that the MI delegates would be kept out, particularly if Romney is the VP.
