I predict a few media consultants and 527 fundraisers are going to be very happy with Barack as the nominee. Unfortunately, Hillary seems to be holding the white working-class vote. Here’s hoping that she’ll lose Indiana and NC.

  2. Kavon W. Nikrad Says:

I think Hillary will pull out IN and lose NC.

  3. BobH Says:

This morning, after looking at the Colorado poll and seeing that Obama was doing 14 points better than Hillary, I wondered if other states had similar differences — here are three. In KY, Hillary runs 26 points better than Obama. Amazing.

  4. Adam Says:

    *fingers crossed* Please nominate Barry!

  5. Eric Dondero Says:

Oh my gosh! This is stunning. Missouri is stunning enough. But Kentucky? It’s not hyperbole to call those KY numbers outright shocking.

All I can say is any GOP candidates running for Congress or State Legsialture in Missouri and Kentucky might want to start measuring the curtains in the capitol offices. Looks like MO and KY Republicans are going to have a very, very good year.

  6. Matthew E. Miller Says:

Obama loses the Democratic vote in Kentucky. That’s game over for him. If McCain doesn’t botch things, I think he could manage a 35-40 state victory over Barack. I’m just hoping he keeps it together with a North Carolina victory; otherwise, superdelegates might really hand Hillary the nomination, and we’d be spared the delicious disaster of Obama.

  7. jim Says:

these recent few days with Wright is really the first time I can see Obama losing the nomination

I can see Hillary winning big in PA, IN, WV and KY.

I still think Obama wins NC but it could be very close and Hillary may even pull it out based on a huge win in PA.

After that, Obama would still lead in delegates, but I think his sinking poll #s in OH, PA and among whites and hispanics would be enough for the supers to throw him under the bus…at which point I think the part falls apart

  8. BobH Says:

I agree in general, Matt. I’m just trying not to get over-confident. Much can change in seven months (just look at the last seven months). We’re riding high now, but Obama has just been through probably the worst week of his life. The question now is whether things continue to spiral downward for him, or did he manage to at least bandage over the wound with his speech yesterday.

  9. MWS Says:

Good to see that Ohio, Missouri, and Kentucky have not caught the Obama flu. I’m especially heartened by Obama’s dismal, sub-Dukakis showing in KY, where much of my beloved burley is grown.

  10. cinyc Says:

    BobH-

I think a lot of folks from the Mountain States haven’t forgiven the Clintons for Bill turning millions of acres of land into National Monuments as one of his last acts of office. Hillary Clinton traditionally doesn’t do as well in many Mountain West states as she does in the rest of the country.

  11. jim Says:

they also remember the ruby ridge incident. i don’t think it’s just a coincidence that Hillary’s worst state thus far has been Idaho
