Soros and his wealthy buddies are preparing a $40 million smear campaign against John McCain over 4 months.
At the same time, John McCain is struggling to raise 25% of the funds of the Democrats.
It looks like Pontius Pilate Barack Obama is going to wash his hands while his fanatical followers smear an American war hero.
So far Obama’s behavior has been politics as usual. What did Obama do when his close support Jay Rockefeller said this:
“McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues.”
Obama said nothing and his campaign just said: “he didn’t agree”. Way to show some backbone Mr. Messiah. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Obama’s strategy of duck and hide when his supporters say outrageous things. When Ed Schwartz spoke before an Obama rally he called McCain a “warmonger”. Obama declined two chances to disagree with calling McCain a “warmonger”. Finally his campaign covered for the boy genius and said “John McCain is not a warmonger”. Bravo Obama, I guess someone realized calling a man with a son in Iraq a warmonger is cowardly.
It’s worth pointing out McCain has turned on supporters when they got out of hand quickly and publicly. He disassociated from Bill Cunningham of “Barack Hussein Obama” fame. McCain suspended Soren Dayton when he thought he’d stepped over the line. Heck, McCain even corrected his mother’s comments in front of her when she crossed the line in comments about Mitt Romney’s religion.
Does Obama really want his “Change” campaign to be about plunging into new depths of slime while McCain stays clean?
Obama may want to put a leash on his supporters or at the very least learn to stop hiding behind his campaign when his supporters attack John McCain’s military sacrifice.

Doug, if I extrapolate your metaphor, Obama as Pilot would make JMac Christ. Are you overstating this just a bit?
Also, I am hard pressed to have a problem with Soros’ plan — other than the content. I am sure we will have our own independent expenditures that will bring to light Sen. Obama’s record in a less-than-flattering fashion.
I’m just jealous they have a billionaire on their side.

er, Pilate.

$40 million can buy a lot of negative ads, but when the ads are being prepared by someone as tone deaf and slimy as David Brock, one hopes the money will be well wasted.
April 11th, 2008 at 10:14 am
At least Jmac didn’t call his mom a bigot/racist like Barry O’bama.
April 11th, 2008 at 10:14 am
Gary, please don’t extrapolate my metaphors too far. I’m a meek Economics graduate not an English major.
There’s nothing wrong here with what Obama’s doing except that it shows everything he’s said is a lie.
I think it’s fitting that Obama’s well funded campaign based on a “new politics” is contracting out the largest ever political hit job to Soros. The public may see that their Avatar of Hope and Change is really just a charismatic hack barely evolved out of the Chicago political slime.

Jay Rockefeller is an idiot. John McCain flew A-1’s and A-4’s. He was NOT a “fighter pilot”.
April 11th, 2008 at 10:23 am
Is this new that the opposition puts out attack ads on the other side? About McCain not being able to raise money, that speaks for itself. Is it too late to pick a conservative candidate that has some appeal?
April 11th, 2008 at 10:48 am
Me Again #7,
Well then I assume that you are calling for Rudy Giuliani. Considering that he out raised every other candidate, no
?

If only Kavon, if only…………..
April 11th, 2008 at 11:07 am
Kavon is that right?
The figures I’ve seen are $43 million dollars raised by Rudy.
Romney had $63 million of which $17 million dollars was his own. That still leaves $46 million dollars raised.
Even if you play around with the numbers you don’t get any significant advantage for the former mayor of NYC.

“Is it too late to pick a conservative candidate that has some appeal?” It sure is- if you don’t consider McCain conservative. But its not to late for you to get some cheese to go with your whine.
April 11th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I think is the perfect Republican to run this cycle. In other cycles I would prefer a more down the line conservative but we need to win this time. The reality is that on core conservative issues McCain has strong and consistent. Where has turned me off is on the other set of issues and how he is a media darling. But I will happily tolerate if it means more pro-life judges, lower spending, lower taxes, and fighting the WOT.
April 11th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
#8 I thought RON PAUL outraised every other republican? Well, besides Mitt Romney that is.
April 11th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
#12 How ’bout some cheese to go with that crusty old McCain?
April 11th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
#13 and one last point, McCain being a “media darling” is not a compliment. The media is screamingly liberal and propped up McCain because they saw him as the WEAKEST, WEAKEST mind you of the republican candidates. And barring Huckleberry, they were right. So conservatives lose. (that’s me) I’m not whining, I’m irate and bellowing my protest. Perhaps you can’t perceive my tone and demeanor in print but I’m trying my best.

Doug #10,
Total receipts- Rudy Giuliani: $61.6 million
Total receipts- Mitt Romney: $53.5 million
Total receipts- John McCain $42.1 million
Total receipts- Fred Thompson: $21.8 million
Total receipts- Mike Huckabee: $9 million
Yes, it only bought him 1 delegate. But Rudy had the greatest amount of success in raising money in the GOP field. He out raised his nearest competitor by $8 million dollars despite not even starting until the middle of March.
Yeah, it doesn’t matter now. But I love bringing up the facts when some wiseguy says, “if only we nominated a true conservative, the money would be rolling in right now.” If Rudy would have been raising money on Jan. 1st like the other candidates, he would have come darn close to $100 million for 2007.
It is also hilarious to note that McCain came in a respectable 3rd when “we all know how unpopular he is among his own party.”

ESG (I know your name’s Doug, but that’s what I have been calling you for the past year!) - “new depths of slime while McCain stays clean” Are you kidding? With MSM Machine, Obama could say anything, and MSM will butter up his comments as truths. And if there is any outcry, MSM will just put it down as “taken out of context” or “misunderstood”, and then they will try again to smear McCain.
And McCain could say nothing but good words from this point on; his words so good that angels would seem to be filty-mouthed comparingly, but MSM will make his words to sound like he is pushing Devil out of his job.
Obama and his people can say anything, and they will get away with it. And there’s nothing McCain can do, unless he could get the party base to be very active for him.
April 11th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
“I’m not whining, I’m irate and bellowing my protest.” Yeah that makes me think alot higher of you. How dare people think and vote differently than you, what do they think this is a democracy! Personally I kind of happy that the angry/cons lost.
April 11th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
So you think little of me and you don’t like conservatives. And you are in denial about McCain being propped up by the media. You and McCain are like peas in a pod, honey. And for what it’s worth, I DO like you.
April 11th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Wow grandma, that story in interesting. Mike Huckabee can make millions in show business. Just think someday people will look back and say about him “I knew him when he was just a snake oil salesman in Arkansas”. We’ve come a long way baby. Mike really was funny on some of the late night shows, and he will probably be sucessful.
April 12th, 2008 at 4:20 am
But I thought George Soros was funding John McCain’s campaign?
