I hope he’s right, but I still have a hard time believing that NY & MA are going to be competitive.

  2. Laurent Fourier Says:

If you include Florida and Michigan, Hillary has the popular vote lead now….i’m surprised
they are not already touting this as the moral claim on the nomination….

    Popular Vote (w/FL & MI)** 14,973,720 47.4% 15,095,663 47.8% Clinton +121,943 +0.4%

  3. Clarence Claus Says:

Hillary’s biggest blunder of the campaign was agreeing to the DNC pledge not to campaign in Florida and Michigan. Last fall she was playing it safe, but she should have publicly said, “I’m going to campaign in these states, if Obama doesn’t want to that’s fine, but they should not be stripped of delegates.” She would have been a hero to these two states, saving them from Howard Dean. She would have looked anti-establishment, and both states are favorable to her anyway.

  4. Clarence Claus Says:

Terry, even if we don’t win MA and NY (which we probably won’t), if Obama has to spend any time campaigning there, that is very, very bad news for him. It should also be noted that Deval Patrick, one of Obama’s co-chairs, now has lower approval ratings than Romney had at his worst point.

  5. terry Says:

Clarence, good news about Patrick, but I’m still skeptical that Obama will spend any money in MA or NY to protect them from McCain. Gore didn’t spend any money when GWB was spending $ in CA, and he still won easily.

Having said that, if Obama does have to spend $ in NY & MA, it will mean that McCain will win in a blow out.
