The Candidates
Could this really be true? I noticed this sentence buried in today’s Washington Times:
The Obama problem continues to be the blabbermouth preacher who isn’t likely to go away. He even has a book coming in October.
Assuming Obama makes it to the general election, this could possibly be the best gift that McCain could have asked for. A October release would obviously be timed to inflict maximum damage on Obama. Given that Wright thinks that Obama betrayed him for political purposes, you have to wonder if the Reverend will include any previously unknown “shocking revelations” about Obama. I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone else pick up on this.
Update: In the comments, Evil Conservative links to Ben Smith’s blog in which he notes that Wright foreshadowed his book his speech to the NAACP Convention in Detroit last week. I watched the speech but somehow managed to completely overlook the reference.
But all of that now is in the past. I believe a change is coming. Because many of us are going to change how we see others who are different. I’ve got to hurry on. I’m taking too much of your time. So let me give you the outline of the rest of this message. You can either fill in the blanks for yourselves or you could wait for my book that will be out later this year.
Something tells me that this will be a huge bestseller and may end up being the Death Knell for Obama’s chances for the Presidency.

I wrote this elsewhere on 4/29/08 (the day before the Ben Smith post). I’ll include my Hillary comments as well.
There are forces – real forces, not websites or people running their mouths on Fox News – that have huge motives for sabotaging the other candidate from now until November.
I am not conspiratorial in the slightest, these are just observations confirmed by others in the media noticing the same things. I support everything below with evidence and we’ll have to wait and see if it continues mounting.
For Obama his two biggest saboteurs in the general:
1) Rev. Jeremiah Wright. I really feel for Obama on this one. Wright was out of the country when the scandal broke so that left Barack alone with the responsibility of explaining him. Obama defended his relationship with him because I think Obama truly cares about the guy and thinks highly of him. Too bad Wright is an egomaniac who’s not doing the right thing which is to Shut the Heck Up or at least diffuse the situation by promoting his service as a Marine and professing his love for the USA. Instead, he goes public and gives the media an excuse to run the YouTube clips from a month ago. Then in the interview with that Bolshevik Moyers he says Obama is just being a politician. This completely undermines a campaign based on someone not being a typical politician. The guy needs to shut the heck up, but he won’t because he now has a national audience instead of a local one to preach to.
And I’m going to guess his book is halfway done. Impressive considering he started it 3 weeks ago when his (in)fame blew up. This guy started Obama’s fall with the white working class and may seal them off from him.
2) Hillary Clinton. Maybe I should have saved my sympathy for Obama on this one. Obama is not good at being dirty and she is great at it. She wants the nom in 2012. 2016 she’ll be too old and irrelevant so he has to lose to McCain this go around. Anyone on the Dem side that could be a better candidate then her may be afraid of what she’ll do to him like she did to Obama. Another deterrent for a Dem candidate to run in 2012 is that Mac may seem unstoppable as the economy should be better and he won 4 years earlier 38 states to 12 – thanks in part to her.
For Hillary her biggest saboteur in the general is someone who far eclipses the two above:
Bill Clinton. I actually like him more than most people would guess given my screen name and posts. But let’s face it, this guy is a complete egomaniac and he has talking heads everywhere wondering why:
- he brought up the Bosnia story after it died a week earlier
- he told voters in Ohio and Texas that Hillary had to win both states to continue (would have diminished a big win in Ohio had she lost TX by a hair)
- he played the race card by dismissing Obama’s SC win by comparing him to Jesse Jackson
- before the make-or-break PA primary he brought up the SC episode again in a radio interview claiming the race card was played on him only to finish with “I don’t think I should take any shit from anybody on that, do you?” before hanging up.
Bill doesn’t make mistakes like these – ever! Let alone this many in a short time period when you have to be at your best as a campaigner. And he’s an all-time great. Even when he is on message, the message is often about him and his time as President. So why is this happening?
My guess: I think something is up. Bill is a helluva lot smarter than I’ll ever be. I know something he sure as heck knows. And that is (in his mind) the name “Clinton†right now, for the next decade, and possibly the history books means: balanced budget, booming economy, soaring markets, the rise of the Communications Age with the internet/satellite TV/etc., victory in Bosnia, peace, and bi-partisanship in the 90’s.
Y’know what the name “Clinton†means if Hillary wins? The First Woman President.
Bang.
Done.

Everything about Bill I wrote above is eclipsed and relegated to possibly as little as a footnote in the history books compared to what his wife did, which is become The First Woman President.
History loves firsts and Bill would be the first First Gentleman of the United States. You think he wants to be remembered that way?
*And to be fair, you need a dump truck to haul your ego around if you are running for President, that’s why Mitt Romney spent $50 million of his own money to pander to the peasants and also the reason Mike Huckabee didn’t get out when he was getting his butt kicked.

Wright probably doesn’t need the royalties to help pay for the 10,000 sq. ft. mansion he’s building, but he might have a yacht in mind.

I think Wright plans to take care of himself. I doubt Obama is going to take care of him anytime soon…
