Bill Clinton came to Murray, Kentucky today to stump for Hillary. The primary is on Tuesday and Hillary makes another appearance in this area on Sunday.
I went to see Bill Clinton speak. Hillary’s Kentucky campaign is appealing to voters in a drastically different way than Barack’s campaign. Obama is running as a religious candidate. Religion, faith and God aren’t to be seen in the Hillary campaign material in Kentucky.

Bill Clinton never raised religious themes either. Mostly the former President focused on allowing everyone (including Florida and the late states) a vote in the Convention.
Another theme was how Hillary “depended on voters like you”. Clinton mentioned that Barack Obama’s voters lived in urban areas, were wealthy, had college degrees and “didn’t need a President”. Class warfare has become the meat and potatoes of Clinton’s campaign.
For all that rhetoric it’s clear the Clinton campaign is treating Obama with kid gloves in Kentucky. Their focus is on turning out the Hillary voters and not on attacking Barack Obama.

As we saw when you posted the Obama flyers. I think it’s weird the more I think about it. After the whole Rev. Wright affair, wouldn’t Obama want to avoid bringing his religion up? I mean, a lot of people in rural areas won’t vote for him precisely because he spent time in the pew listening to Rev. Wright without noticing what Wright said.
Perhaps the longer-term strategy on his part is to try to bombard voters with enough contrary information to erase memories of Wright.

He’s trying to win the evangelical vote in Ky- so out come his ridiculous flyers. Also, he wants to counteract the “Muslim” rumors. He knows he has no traction with any other group in Ky.
