What the hell is up with SUSA? They commission a poll of 600 voters and McCain is losing by 2. Then they wait two weeks to release it. At THE SAME TIME that poll was being conducted they have ANOTHER POLL in the works that has McCain up 3 and has a higher sample of voters.

Someone explain this to me. Something really odd has happened with Survey USA over the past month.

Adam,
Yeah… Very, very strange….
Their non-Veepstakes poll sampled 1,523 likely voters and has an MoE of 2.1%.

McCain’s going to win Missouri… that is unless the cancellation of Issues Etc. (GRRRRR) has turned all the people in the St. Louis area into Obamacans.

The hype on here about how Romney would hurt in Missouri again just doesn’t hold water. Of all these polls so far, not one single state goes red with Huckabee, but not red with Mitt! However, in Michigan, they didn’t even bother checking anyone else, but Mitt helped overwhelmingly! I still wish they had checked other Republican VEEPS like they did in every other state, for consistency.
Mitt has the best credentials by far, and since he isn’t hurting McCain’s electability, it should be an easy choice for McCain. However, do I think it will be Mitt, probably not! He still leads Pawlenty by 6 and Huckabee by 9 on intrade.com.

I’ve got nothing personally or politically against Mitt Romney. It’s just hard to make an argument that he appeals to blue collar voters or ex-Hillary voters.
He may help in Michigan but I’d want to see more polls before I even believed that.

EGS, I think the biggest issue, more than getting the states for McCain is having a grassroot that is active. He also will need all help he can get with fund-raising. We know which, between Huckabee and Romney, are best in those two areas.
