1) I’ll be heading to D.C. in the morning with another incoming American University freshman to check out Hillary Clinton’s concession speech. I’ll be getting there quite early (entry is first-come, first-serve) to make sure I’m able to get in. I’ll report back in with anything of note.
2) No Question of the Week this week. I graduated from high school today, and, upon returning home, took a long nap. I was at a concert last night (M.I.A., if anyone is interested) and, well, between that and graduation, I was tired. But not too tired to go see this speech tomorrow!
That is all.

Congrats, Alex!!!

Congratulations Alex. Enjoy yourself tomorrow and the entire summer. You know, I am amazed by the intelligence on this board shown by such young members. What college will you be attending?

I’m going to American University, Casey.

5 - Word. She had the Iraq Veterans Against the War give some short presentation before the concert. They gave a rant about self-determination and the stoners in front of me loved it. (Apparently Saddam Hussein gave the right to self-determination..?) I was near the front row (I touched her, zomg) and when she invited people on the stage, the crowd went absolutely chaotic. It was crazyyyy. Most fun I’ve had in a while. Haha.
When I put “Pull Up the People” on my iPod for the first time, I had to swallow hard. Haha.

She had a concert around here several weeks back, but I had Radiohead tickets for the same night.

Congratulations, Alex. I have not the slightest idea who M.I.A. is, but I’m glad you had fun on your graduation day.

Eh. Could never get into Radiohead.
Most of the music I listen to is symphonic metal (Nightwish/Within Temptation-type stuff), black metal (Emperor/1349-type stuff) or electronic-based. M.I.A. is in the latter category.

Well done Alex you will be famous one day! Remember us little R42008 people when you get there!

The speech should be interesting. I’m glad you’ll be reporting from the scene
Sounds like a fun concert. I imagine she was very good live. My muscially savvy friend gave me a copy of Kala a few months ago. It was a little outside of what I am used to, but I really came to like it over time.

Alex, could you please check the reporters wallets for photo’s of Obama. Check out the video from Obama’s plane and how the reporters are getting excited over him. Impartial journalism eh?

Congratulations - I spent a Washington semester at AU (living on the Tenleytown campus) while also interning for then-Senator Pete Wilson, and it was among the best times of my life. God, I miss D.C.!
