A Different Kind of Politician?

I probably shouldn’t go too “YouTube crazy” in my first few posts here. But this video on Obama’s flip-flop on the DC gun ban (via Redstate) is too good to pass up:

Thankfully, it looks like the voters are not fooled (per Rasmussen):

On the evening the Supreme Court announced its landmark decision on the Second Amendment and gun control issues, 68% of voters said they followed news coverage of the story Somewhat or Very Closely. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 64% of all voters knew that the Court overturned the Washington, DC law banning handguns in the city limits. Only 9% of all voters mistakenly thought the Justices had ruled in favor of the city law.

Among those who knew how the Court ruled, 63% agreed with the decision and 25% disagreed. These attitudes are very similar to results found in polls conducted before the Court ruling. Prior to the ruling on gun control, public approval of the Supreme Court had declined rapidly over the past month. Just 26% of voters said the Justices were doing a good or an excellent job.

By a 58% to 8% margin, voters believe that John McCain agrees with the Court ruling. Voters are evenly divided on Barack Obama’s view—43% believe the Democrat’s presumptive nominee disagreed with the ruling while 41% think he agreed.

If you ask me, they shouldn’t ban guns, just limit bullets. It’s the amount of bullet not the guns that determine how many people you can kill.

Anyway, I’m trying to start something called the 5 Million Club. I’m looking for, best and most popular videos on Youtube. You wouldn’t by chance have any recommendations? So far I have almost 200 videos added to the 5 Million Club Playlist and I’m looking for more. So far I don’t have many political videos in the club. DO you know any really popular videos?

  2. Bryan Says:

Wow, just wow i can’t believe that Obama is actually saying that he never made that statement when the evidence and the facts are overwhelming that Obama supported the Gun Ban and supports Gun Control Legislation. I just hope McCain and the RNC pounce him on this with ad’s in potential swing states and nationally, but it needs to be a good ad which show’s his words and what he actually said then and now, those are the most meaningful ad’s that will have a big impact on voters and their decision on who to vote for. Obama needs to be called out on this and held repsonsible.

  3. Patrick Says:

Hey Bryan, do you hear those crickets?

Yep, that’s the sound of the MSM nailing Obama for this latest flip-flop.

  4. terry Says:

Bryan, you are dead on. The above clip could be an effective ad if it were limited to the first exchanges in each part.

    Clip 1:

Q: In November you had mentioned that the DC handgun law was constitutional. Now you are embracing the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision striking down that law?
A: That’s not what I said in November.

    Clip 2:

Q: You said in Idaho recently I have no intention of taking away folks guns, but you support the DC hand gun ban
    A: Nodding in agreement. “Right”
Q: You have said its constitutional?
    A: Nodding in agreement “Right”

Finish with a clip of Obama “Don’t tell me words don’t matter.”
    CHANGE: that works for him.

  5. Win M. Says:

#4 - Perfect ad. I’d be thrilled if the McCain campaign started airing that. I think that line “Change that works for him” is a catchy rebuttal.

  6. Telamonian Aias Says:

Not to be a stickler for details, but I did not hear Obama “say” the ban was constitutional. The moderator said it.
