This is a little tighter than Texas should be, but Obama is still getting a bounce from wrapping up the nomination. The far more interesting thing is that Texas voters would be less likely to vote for Obama if Hillary is on the ticket. It seems like even in states she carried (Kentucky being another), she does not help the ticket. It does not look like it’s to his advantage to pick her.

But look at those Favorable/Unfavorabe numbers??? I just dont understand how these that polls are kind of close but when you look at those numbers it shouldnt be close at all? Those are terrible unfavorables for Obama and great for McCain, my guess is that the state poll’s that are showing these bad favorables for Obama will begin to open up huge leads for McCain come Labor Day.

Barack Obama’s negative rating is 48%, and John McCain’s vote is 48%. That means basically McCain is getting all the voters who dislike Obama but no one else. He needs to improve on that.

Rasmussen was wrong in referring to Bush as a Texas native by the way. He is a Connecticut native. Bush has done such a good job in “country-ing” himself that many people think of him as a cowboy from Texas. He is actually a wealthy New Englander.
