Politico’s Mike Allen is reporting this morning that Bill Stepien is John McCain’s new Deputy Political Director/Field Director. Stepien will move to McCain HQ to work with new Political Director and former Rudy Giuliani campaign manager Mike DuHaime, after having served as regional campaign manager for NJ/NY. Before taking over NJ/NY for McCain, Stepien was National Field Director for the Giuliani campaign and previously worked as RNC’s 72-Hour Director under Ken Mehlman, NH Political Director at Bush-Cheney ‘04, and several New Jersey campaigns.
Finally, a candidate is talking about using coal…our nation’s most abundant energy resource.
Maybe he could be pushed into advocating coal liquification as a way to counter the enormous transfer of wealth from America to OPEC. If the Nazi’s could use this technology in the 1940’s (during WWII) to offset the Allies blockade, we can use it in 2008!
Rudy is great! You are right, cwpete - this is him at is best. I would have been happy to support him as our nominee, although Mitt was my #1.
Is it just me or is Alan Colmes (SP?) one of the most annoying liberal dweebs out there?
He is constantly interrupting guests with his whining protests. Often I just have to turn the t.v. off when he starts interrupting, I mean, talking.
Aron, it was great hearing Rudy “school” A. Colmes on Economics 101. One thing I’ve noticed as I talk to liberals here in the great socialist republic of California, where I currently live, is the ongoing, over and underlying theme about the evil of corporations and working for a profit.
For the record, of the 730,000 or so barrels of oil produced in Alaska, no crude oil gets exported to Japan or any other country. The 1973 Trans Alaska Pipeline Authorization Act prohibited foreign export of Alaskan crude, and even when that act was lifetd during the Clinton administration, there was still an export limit of less than 10% state-produced crude. Since 2001, no Alaskan crude has been shipped oversees, with nearly all going to West Coast refineries.
This myth of Alaska shipping it’s oil to Japan just won’t seem to go away, but it’s still just a myth.
While I got this info from the state’s own publications, one only needs to check Snopes (of all places!) for more accurate info:
Can we just give Rudy the VP spot and be done with it. He is qualified in so many ways and would be a great help in many of the battleground states. Nobody is a better attack dog than the Mayor.

The best part of this clip is Rudy having to remind the communist Colmes that we live in a capitalist country.

Yeah, Rudy is my pick and prediction. Sorry purists, he’s given you enough reason to vote for him if you are pro-life.
