RNC Platform Committee Website

I urge everyone here to head on over to the new Republican Platform Committee website. Once you have created an account, you are then able to submit your ideas on issues ranging from energy to judicial nominations.

I applaud the RNC leadership for their efforts to make the party and its platform responsive to Republican voters. The website is very interactive and user-friendly and all entries are supposedly reviewed and taken into consideration for further discussion. It is nice to see the GOP expand its web-based attack.

The Rules committee should follow suit and start looking for alternative primary system plans.

  2. bob Says:

Yes act, let us have a DNC primary process. That worked out well.

The only thing I would change about the primary process, is that we should not allow under-qualified mannequins to use their own $. That would have spared us from Romney.

  3. Alex Knepper Says:

Where did he advocate a DNC primary process, bob? He just said ‘alternative.’

  4. The Great White Autocrat Says:

    Alex:
If I remember right, Act did want us to go to proportional allocation of the delegates. If you want to change the primary rules Act, you have to talk with your State GOP. Each state is free to pick whatever method they want. The national party has very little control over the primary process in the GOP.

  5. bob Says:

‘alternative’. We all know whet act means.

    Alex,
    There are two options;

    1) Winner take all

    2) Proportional

The third option is to have the elected members decide on the nominee (like UK Conservative party), but that will not work in the US.

  6. Lee Says:

I won’t create an account but I wish the platform would reflect a return to the true conservative principles of smaller, less intrusive government.

Last night I happened upon Bill Moyers talking with conservative authors Mickey Edwards and Ross Douthat about American conservatism and the GOP. I recommend everyone watch it.

  7. Aron Goldman Says:

McCain’s Conservative Model? Roosevelt (Theodore, That Is)

  8. JA Pruce Says:

    Query of the Day-

    Mitt Romney should:
    A) Accept the Vice Presidency on the McCain ticket
    B) Become RNC chair, shaping the party’s platform and leading it into the future
    C) Raise money, start a PAC, write a book and keep his options open for 2012 and 2016
    D) Run for Governor of Michigan or Senate in Mass. if Ted leaves
    E) Accept a cabinet position in a McCain administration
    F) Leap frog the American Presidency and become the first American (and Mormon) UN Secretary General
    G) Become commissioner of Major League Baseball
    H) Get a daytime talk show
    I) Begin laying the ground work for Tagg’s 2028 campaign for the White House

  9. Lee Says:

Just heard something weird on the news. The story was about the NGA and all the VP prospects attending. There was a very short interview of Gov. Huntsman who curiously said, “everyone with a pulse is on the list [of prospects].”

  10. Sean M Says:

LOL #8 well Romney has already created a PAC incase you missed it.

  11. logcabingop Says:

And romney’a PAC is helping McCain. Although romney is not my first choice for veep, he has been such a honest guy for helping McCain and his party.

  12. ogrepete Says:

    #8

    LOL

I’m going to go with B, though I think the short-sighted person in me wants A.

  13. Paulette Says:

i would never vote for someone named tagg
