| Next week on July 23rd, Huck PAC is hosting a “Vertical Day” for candidates.
If you followed my campaign for President than you may remember the first “Vertical Day” we held on September 24 of last year. On a day when many said we should have focused on our fundraising for that “all important” 3rd quarter financial report, we instead focused on the issues. I blogged about the issues, answered questions about specific issues and used video to speak to voters about issues important to our campaign. We also featured guest blog posts from key supporters of the campaign, supportive bloggers and a guest post from Newt Gingrich. We had a great time and received lots of positive feedback from supporters.
This time, I am going to step to the sidelines and let the candidates Huck PAC has endorsed take the field. We have offered each candidate the option to blog up to 4 times about the issues that matter most to them. No fundraising appeals, no calls to action, just a simple link to their website will be added to each blog post in case you want further information. These candidates aren’t just blogging to Huck PAC supporters within their home states and congressional districts, they are blogging to our community. They value what we accomplished during our campaign together and they are eager to offer their views for the way forward and their solutions to the problems we face.
I hope you will take the time to visit us next Wednesday and participate on Vertical Day. I also hope you will share that day with friends and family.
Here is a breakdown of Vertical Day information:
1) Vertical Day is July 23rd 12PM-12AM ET.
2) Each candidate has the option to blog 4 times about issues important to them.
3) We will redesign the homepage of www.huckpac.com to host Vertical Day.
4) One of the things we hope to accomplish is to introduce these candidates to you and your personal networks, facebook friends, etc. We encourage you to forward the blog posts you like to friends and family. We will actually track the “friends contacted” using our send to a friend tool and share the information with you in real time.
5) I will open and close Vertical Day with a blog posts of my own.
6) The following candidates are participating: Bob Clegg, Jim Inhofe, Lamar Alexander, John Cornyn, Steve Daines, Elizabeth Dole, Roy Brown, Gilbert Baker and Brad Lager. We will update this list on our website as Huck PAC endorsed candidates agree to participate.
7) We have asked Huck PAC bloggers to cover the event. For current information on which bloggers are participating follow my feed on Twitter. If you have a blog and are interested in covering the event read more here.
I will email you again very soon and I hope you will mark next Wednesday off on your calendars and tell your friends and family to do the same.
Thanks for all of your support,
Mike Huckabee |

What? Mike Huckabee is supporting other Republicans across the nation. He is so self centered and only cares about him self. No not really, I am a huge Huckabee fan and have been since day one, but I have heard these comments so many times on this site that it is ridiculous. Huckabee has been working hard to help campaign and raise money for many many good conservatives across the country and we should all support this effort. I encourage everyone to participate in this Vertical Day and help spread the Conservative message. Go Huckabee!

Leave it to New Hampshire’s Bob Clegg to get on this list. He is a U. S. House candidate and was a Huckabee supporter. The whole “vertical” thing sounds like Bill Clinton’s “triangulation”. I bet Dick Morris came up with it.

HUCK PAC is a great thing! I have donated to it myself. It helps good Republican candidates across the country. It shows that Mr. Huckabee is a team player. I must also give credit to Mr. Romney and Mr. Brownback who also have their own PACs to help Conservative candidates. It does not do a whole lot of good to have a GOP President, but few Republicans elsewhere in the country.

Huck has a PAC that supports conservative Republicans? That is very broad-minded of him to support conservatives and not just his wing of the party.

What’s wrong with Bob Clegg?

Doug:
Perhaps, Clarence does not like candidates from NH.
Clarence:
I could not resist.

I just gave Huck PAC $20.08. I figure every little bit helps.

#7 - it sure does - thanks buddy.

Good for Huck. I’ve got to admire the guy for coming up with “candidates blogging throughout the day.” It would be nice to hear directly from the candidates themselves, without having to go through the “media filter.”
Mostly what I remember from Huck’s website in the past was a ton of posts talking about how great Huckabee is and requests for people to make contributions to the campaign on certain numbers (Rangers, etc. trying to outdo each other in campaign contributions generated). The Ranger thing I never got, since Huck isn’t affiliated with the military at all. Can anyone explain it?

Are the Texas Rangers or New York Ranger affiliated with the military.

On #7. Why 8 cents out of curiosity?

The Texas Rangers were an elite police/marshall group that was well known. I have no idea what the New York Rangers were.
Sports teams often identify with military struggles. “It’s going to be a battle/war.”

Huck Pac vs Free and Strong Pac? Enough said i’ll take the latter
July 17th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
14, Why not help both? I bet Mitt’s Pac is doing good things like Mike’s is. They both have strong points.

The Rangers was a take on Chuck Norris and his being “THE” Texas Ranger. He was a supporter and was working hard to get others to support Huckabee so they ran with that and the Rangers were born. It was designed to get individuals to network with others and grow support. The reason you saw people asking to raise money under their number is because people set goals for themself to help raise moeny and some did matching on certain days to drive it up.
Also, Bob Clegg is a great guy and would make a Great Congressman.

Yawn! Huck is no Mitt that’s for sure!
Romney 12!

Now it all makes sense. Thanks, James Boulder.

Believe it or not, I did understand the purpose of the fundraising posts on Huck’s site. His fundraising surely did increase over time, though it was never very high.

Gag reflex is working just fine, Brett. Thanks for checking.

Brett, I intend to send a check for exactly $20.90.

#3, yes, I agree — I have started donating to HuckPac, too. During the primaries and after McCain was determined the presumptive nominee, I was contributing to McCain regularly. I really believed in him, that he was cut from a different cloth, not unmercifully driven by the dollar. (Folks, you may get the impression that I am against capitalism — quite the contrary. I make a very high six figure salary, but I originate from humble roots and simply cannot abide the tenets of certain fiscal conservative gods).
At any rate, as McCain surrounded himself with Rove & Co., and slamed the doors on social conservatives, I grew more discontent. I actually consider myself a three-legged conservative, but I would order it (i) national security, (ii) social conservative and (iii) lastly fiscal conservative. They all have their place, but there are times certain fiscal cons really seem obsessed with nothing but money, and it is begining to truly turn me off. I am willing to pay the additional taxes, the pay increases and everything else, because I am no longer comfortable in a Republican Party that has forgotten its values and ridicules those who try to reach out for the better good. I am hoping that some day I will feel better about a party to which I was a loyal supporter for 40 years.
So I have this month stopped donating to McCain and started donating to HuckPac. I find myself feeling a whole lot better.

You are sure right that HUCK is no MITT and that is exactly why he I like him.
July 18th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
For fun, count the number of times that he refers to himself (including the name of the PAC) in short posting. That includes the words ‘I’, ‘me’, ‘mine’, ect.. ‘We’ and ‘Us’ don’t count, just references to him. Then compare a similiar posting by another GOP candidate. Notice any difference?

Hey Mark,
You might also want to see how the I, my, me, mine etc. was used. What a stretch to try and make something negative out of this email. I think you need help.
