Culture11: Romney Thinks He is Out

James Poulos has the scoop:

A well-placed source has confirmed that Mitt Romney no longer understands himself to be in consideration for the Republican nomination for Vice President. When asked where he’ll be tomorrow, Romney revealed that he planned to be in Massachusetts. When pressed for a clarification — as to whether that remark constituted an artful prevarication — Romney declared that it did not. Further, one of Romney’s senior advisors has verified that if he put it thus, it’s true.

    Sad day….Oh well!

  2. redwolves Says:

    he thinks right

  3. jim Says:

    Mitt’s out?

So now he’s flipped on being starigh too?

I think Romney never really wanted to be VP. He knows McCain will very likely lose and that if he was on the ticket with him his political career is finished.

If he’s not VP he plays the good soldier and begins running for 2012 on Nov 5 as the front runner

  4. JerryO Says:

if so, McCain continues to show any real clarity in judgement. How can the person who blows away all others in the recent polling data be overlooked? As the wheel turns.

  5. dotan Says:

Oh, keep your chins up, Rombots. When has Romney ever told the truth before now? If Romney says he’s not the VP then he’s definitely the VP.

  6. Jerseyrepublican Says:

Well, Biden said it wasn’t him the day before as well…so I don’t think that means much.

  7. Gery- Says:

    Surprise pick :-)

3.I think Romney never really wanted to be VP.

    sour grapes???

  9. MetroRepublican Says:

If you have any political savvy and have been following the current themes and storylines of the McCain campaign, you know it cannot be Romney.

  10. Jason Bonham Says:

    8. Redwolves, I really just don’t think you know what your talking about.

  11. craig Says:

Interesting B.S, since Carl Cameron just announced that Mitt would be in Dayton tomorrow, with Mccain and other possibilities as well as Pittsburgh on Saturday and Missouri on Sunday. Very interesting, but Culture 11 is but another load of well shoveled disinformation.

  12. Evan Biddock Says:

#6 At the point he said that he hadn’t been notified he was the choice yet. It sounds as if McCain has perhaps notified those whom it is not, at least.

  13. BJWitts Says:

    Culture 11 is a bogus story…

  14. BJWitts Says:

Can anyone confirm the veracity of the story?

  15. Tommy Oliver Says:

Hell, he still has the chance to flip flop tomorrow! ;)

  16. Rick (the first) Says:

Assuming Romney flies home this evening following the remaining events in CA, he indeed will be in Boston sometime early tomorrow morning. Who knows where he will be tomorrow afternoon.

  17. BarkTwiggs Says:

Well, if McCain loses in November, this will pave the way for my dream ticket of Romney/Huckabee 2012!!! I guess it’s more of a nightmare ticket ;)
Seriously though, I think McCain has a good chance no matter the choice. It wouldn’t be very hard to find someone who can hold their own against Biden.

  18. ilfigo Says:

    Clever Tommy! Clever!

  19. Jared Says:

Culture11 is BS. Romney will be on stage tomorrow in OH. Whether he is the pick or not, the storyline about him being in MA is a crock.

  20. dotan Says:

    sour grapes???

Oh, this is nothing. You should have been on this blog when Romney finally suspended his campaign after losing $40 million of his own money with nothing to show for it but a lousy t-shirt and some gibbering rube sycophant named Kevin Madden who went on to work for a Democratic firm. Madden still shows up on CNN from time to time with that weird deer-in-the-headlights stare of his. He pretends to represent a Republican point of view despite his new employers. But he never has much to say. It’s sad, really. Where did Romney find these losers?

  21. JWohio Says:

Just remember…Biden said, in the 11th hour before he was choosen, that he was not the guy. A “leaked” denial like this makes me wonder if it IS Romney.

  22. Illinoisguy Says:

a very, very sad day in America. Romney could have done a fantastic job. What a bummer!!

  23. Armeni Says:

OK ! This just in: On our local Boston ch. 7, Lauren Przybyl just reported that “SECURITY has been stepped up
around Romney”. (He is in Cali).

  24. Jason Bonham Says:

    Dotan,

You must only watch CNN, because Madden is a regular contributor to Fox News.

  25. dotan Says:

What are talking about? The source is Romney himself. How could this be anything other than a lie or a deception?

  26. dotan Says:

Quite right. We don’t get Fox on Vancouver Island. The Canucks don’t like it much. (I’m working in Canada at the moment.)

  27. Aron Goldman Says:

If only some of you were paying attention.

Instead, you’re painfully experiencing the first stage of the Kübler-Ross model.
