  3. Gery- Says:

Hopefully Gustav will not affect people from watching the republican convention.

  4. ilfigo Says:

Thats the Hillary bump, I wonder if Biden will have the same affect.

  5. Tom in SoCal Says:

    The bounce finally showed up.

  6. Richard M Says:

I would guess this is a combination of the nega-bounce of Sen Biden rolling off the average and good vibes from Sen Clinton’s tuesday speech. I suspect it has Sen Obama over 50% on the day (hard to imagine it doesn’t), but I don’t have my dailies handy, so I’m not sure about that.

  7. corep Says:

it will be 9 or 10 by friday

  8. Alex Knepper Says:

    There’s the bounce.

  9. Richard M Says:

Oh, if it’s due mostly to the negation of the Biden Effect, don’t expect Sen Obama to cross 50% until the weekend. If it isn’t, then he’ll be there tomorrow.

  10. mcon Says:

And now we have the bounce….Maybe we can get a little rain tonight at the temple of the one true Obamagod. Lol. Biden bring any bounce at all it appears and this is from the convention and probably a lot to do with Hill and Bill. I’ll be shocked if it lasts for more than a few days. I’m thinking McCain/Romney* will be leading in the polls by a point or two by the end of the Rep convention.

*Yes, I do think its Romney.

  11. ReedH Says:

Not to worry, a big announcement tonight will cause a bounce back

  12. RayinNH Says:

No worries here - we all expected this bounce to finally show up. Hill did well 2 nights ago obviously Obama pulled in some of her supporters as a result.

Now, we will wait and see how much of a bounce tonight’s “Address from the Temple of Zeus” will bring and then how much of a bounce JMac gets after announcing Blackburn or Whitman as VP tomorrow.

  13. MarkG Says:

This appears to be an anticipatory manifestation of the Romney bounce. ;-)

  14. Taylor Says:

Hillary supporters have come home. Can we finally stop with the nonsense that we need a woman?

  15. John Galt Says:

That is dramatic bounce nonetheless given that his speech hasn’t even come yet.

  16. David D Says:

MarkG: Yes, fear Romney will not be picked.

  17. Houston Says:

It’s going to get really ugly this weekend. If Gustov hits Monday/Tuesday, we may not be able to recover next week.

  18. Ajay Says:

HELLO!!! This is the same result as August 12th. A lot of the change might be random fluctuation.

  19. dotan Says:

Why is Pawlenty suddenly canceling interviews?

  20. Brett Says:

The Secret Service have been seen around a member of Mitt Romney’s family. Could this be a sign of things to come?

Are you sure they weren’t SEC lawyers? Because that really would be a sign of things to come.

  22. HearMeRoar Says:

    14. This nation has done just fine for 232 years without having a woman in the White House, no reason to start now, right Taylor?

  23. Taylor Says:

The women I know would be seriously turned off by a blatant attempt to play identity politics with thier vote.

  24. David D Says:

#22 We do not “need” a woman, or a man, or a black person, or a hispanic. It does not matter if we never have a woman, or other. We need a good leader.

  25. Illinoisguy Says:

Don’t worry Romney is ready to sock it to ‘em!

  26. dotan Says:

Don’t worry Romney is ready to sock it to ‘em!.

    In private life I hope.

    Ugh. Please not the Rombot.

  28. Greg Alterton Says:

“The Secret Service have been seen around a member of Mitt Romney’s family. Could this be a sign of things to come?”

It means that one of Mitt’s family is McCain’s selection for VP. ;-)

  29. dotan Says:

Let’s hope it’s the maid or the butler.

  30. MVRed.com Says:

Pawlenty is not the person I want on the ticket. I will not be enthusiastic if McCain picks this guy….
