  1. Mcon Says:

Damn. I’m just hoping he doesn’t going over 50 but that looks like a foregone conclusion right now. Maybe the Palin choice will help with tonight’s polling.

  2. Brett Passmore Says:

    not bad.

  3. Joel Says:

this is nothing to worry over

  4. OHIO JOE Says:

Is that the best they can do? The gap will start to close again fast!

  5. terry Says:

This only includes Obama’s speech for a few of the respondents on the West Coast. Tomorrow we will know what effect Obama’s speech had. The next day we get an idea about Palin.

  6. mike Says:

Mondays results will tell what bounce Obama really got..

  7. Wild Onion Says:

I’m encouraged that this is only 2 points worse than yesterday. I agree that Monday’s results are what we need to be concerned with.

  8. Jamison Says:

That’s the crest of the tide; he only went up one today, and McCain only dropped one. Wait for the HUGE Palin bump, then the convention.

  9. eric Says:

I’m done looking at polls until Sept 8th when both conventions have had time to set in.

A little disappointed though that Obama looks like he’ll break 50%.

  10. Au standard Says:

    this day keeps getting better…

  11. EricB Says:

Don’t worry about the numbers. This is typical. Obama has been the only news all week. Next week is McCain’s turn.

  12. Mcon Says:

Kavon, could you restore my comment please.

  13. Alex Knepper Says:

Ooh! I guessed right in Oxendine’s post. A +8 bounce!

  14. EricB Says:

It’s going to go higher. He’ll probably end up with +10

  15. Ryan Says:

No it’s not. This is Obama’s peak and McCain will be leading by the end of next week.

  16. BobH Says:

“Ooh! I guessed right in Oxendine’s post. A +8 bounce!”

Not necessarily, Alex. Sean’s comparison was last Sunday’s Gallup weekly poll with this Sunday’s.
