These lefty radio hosts didn’t get what they bargained for when they scheduled this interview with former Alaska Democratic Senator Mike Gravel:

I dare you to try to stop listening before the interview’s conclusion.

Those poor folks at Pacifica didn’t know what to do. It was hilarious.

Senator Mike Gravel … you know I used to ridicule this guy?—this is a man of profound integrity and I am really embarrassed.
September 10th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
The hosts remind me of University Liberals. They know what they know and don’t want to hear anything to the contrary.
September 10th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Dear Lord. I love the part where he makes a distinction between ideology and character. I could learn a lot from this guy.
September 10th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
Wow, hilarious. On the other hot topic, why is it that Obama can make numerous claims of racism and get everyone to apologize for any offense they didn’t mean or intend, but yet to question his “lipstick” comment raises defense rather than the same type of apology for unintended offense? It is not as much the comment as the reaction to the criticism that I have issue with.

Maybe Bam should have tipped Gravel for his Veep.
The Senator from Scranton who clings bitterly to his Amtrak just doesn’t have the same flair…

Kavon,
Please tell me we do not send taxpayers $ to that network?
September 10th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Oh my… this is great! Gravel put them in their place!
September 10th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Gravel for president!
September 10th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
A real guy, giving a real opinion. What’s sickening in politics are airheads along the entire spectrum of American politics who simply stick to the talking points of their party.
Its refreshing and hilarious to see how one guy can turn a talk show on its head by giving honest insights as opposed to party talking points!
Way to go Mike! The country could use more people like you! We’re always going to have different opinions, but at least make them honest opinions!
September 10th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
Of course, if you followed up with his “deep” 30 minute stone-in-water campaign commercial, maybe we wouldn’t take this guy seriously, even when he defends Palin.
September 10th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
I haven’t felt that much admiration for a US Senator (current or former) in a long time, McCain and Obama included. And this is a man who is very open about disliking my point of view on issues that I hold important.
September 10th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Go Go Gravel! That was completely awesome. Amazing that offering a genuine opinion is so rare in politics. The interviewers simply didn’t know what to do except try changing the subject.
Did anyone else attend the McCain rally in NoVA this morning? It was amazing. Palin has completely energized the McCain campaign. There were somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 people. Anyway, good stump speeches by both Palin and McCain. The energy and excitement was so palpable. It was a small taste for me of what St. Paul must have been like.

I had to chuckle when the women announcer was just becoming so upset and emotional. she was obviously expecting him to trash the republicans. i loved her first question, what are the republicans not telling us about palin after which he begins to explain how great she is. classic.
September 10th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Never heard this guy make so much sense. Palin is representative of a large portion of Americans. Is that so wrong?
September 10th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Wow, Kavon, you were right. I thought, “Nine minutes? No way I’m listening to the whole thing.” But I couldn’t stop listening. That was fantastic. Made my day. Great find!
September 10th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
After watching Gravel’s “Rock” and “Fire” ads from earlier in the campaign, I didn’t believe you when you said I couldn’t stop listening… but I couldn’t. Fantastic stuff!

I love the bit when the chick is like, “But EVEN the MAINSTREAM media is reporting” blahblahblah. Because I thought: “OH, if the MSM is reporting it, it MUST be true!”
I love Mike Gravel btw. Disagree with him a whole lot on a whole lot, but I think he’s a man of integrity and clear principles. Like someone else from Alaska….
(I guess she’s not a “man” of integrity though…)

I gave Gravel $50 during the primaries. Not because I’m a Democrat or support much of anything he says, but because I respect him and thought he deserved a voice. I think this interview vindicates me. Class act.
September 10th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
Great interview. Kudos to Gravel. I think the Americans are just hungry for this kind of integrity, whether they agree with all of their policies or not.
September 10th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
That was great!!!
September 10th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Don’t you just love the principled liberals? (Yes, there are some…)
I didn’t know much about him, when he decided to run for President this year, but I think I do remember seeing that he supported a flat tax. I am glad that he is speaking out, in defense of another principled political leader.

Well, that didn’t go well for Pacifica Radio.
September 11th, 2008 at 9:28 am
Well you got me I never thougth I couldn’t turn off a Gravel interview…but this was great! I was awestruck!
