Gov. Romney is doing his part to support Sen. Coleman:
Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC today announced it has joined the battle to ensure Senator Norm Coleman’s re-election in the Minnesota Senate race by donating $5,000 to his recount fund.
Senator Coleman emerged the victor in last week’s race against Democrat Al Franken. With only a few hundred votes separating the two candidates, state law dictates an automatic recount.
“Senator Coleman is a proven, experienced leader. America and the people of Minnesota need his leadership in the U.S. Senate fighting for a stronger national defense, keeping government accountable and promoting fiscal responsibility,” said Romney, the honorary chairman of the Free and Strong America PAC.
The donation to the recount fund is in addition to the $2,300 the Free and Strong America PAC contributed to Senator Coleman’s election campaign.
A sincere thanks from the tundra to Gov. Romney for taking the initiative and showing leadership on this issue. We need all the help we can get to save our Senator.

Kavon,
I contacted the Coleman campaign about assisting with this through their website and haven’t heard back. I assumed that it was urgent but haven’t heard back. Are they covered in terms of boots on the ground? Or is the help that they need going to be next week?
November 11th, 2008 at 11:54 am
Eric,
They are in desperate need of boots on the ground. Call them at (651) 645-0766. My guess is that they will ask you how soon you can start.

One more Senate seat and the Dems will be able to ram anything through.
Man I wish Smith hadn’t been edged out. For that matter, I wish we could have found someone other than Dole in N. Carolina.

Palin says she thought election would be closer
From Associated Press
November 11, 2008 8:40 AM EST
WASHINGTON – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she thought the election day contest between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain would be closer. But she added that, in retrospect, “it’s really not so much a surprise” that Obama’s margin of victory was so large.
In an interviewed aired Tuesday on NBC’s “Today,” the Republican vice presidential candidate said three factors contributed to her party’s defeat:
-”We didn’t get the Hispanic vote.”
-”We were outspent so tremendously.”
-”The anti-incumbency sentiment that was spread across the land and our ticket representing the incumbency.”
Obama, Palin said, “did a great job articulating his ability to usher in change. Our ticket represented too much of the status quo.”
McCain’s loss to Obama last week came an Electoral College landslide that dramatically reorders the divided political map that’s been the norm during the last two elections. Obama won in traditionally Republican states like Indiana
and gained ground in just about every demographic group, including the fast-growing Hispanic bloc that Republicans have courted.
I WOULD ALSO ADD: HE DID NOT WIN THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN VOTE WHICH NEVER VOTES REPUBLICAN THE INCREASE FROM KERRY 2004 TO THIS YEARS WAS ABOUT 3-5% NOT ALOT CONSIDERING BUT THE HISPANIC VOTE DOUBLE DIGITS LIKE 20 SOMETHING NATIONALY TO 3O SOMETHING IN SOME STATES
ASIAN-AMERICAN: WHICH HAS VOTED REPUBLICAN IN THE PAST BUT NOT THIS TIME OBAMA GOT 63% OF THIS VOTE
JEWISH: DON’T HAVE THE NUMBERS BUT MCCAIN AND REPUBS LOST THIS GROUP TOO
CUBANS: MCCAIN AND REPUBS DID NOT GET THIS EITHER
Don’t you see a trend here. People can spout out libreal hack names etc out of igonorance but in reality, this is not going to persuade these groups of voters to vote repub or to switch back. that era is over. If it was not then McCain and repubs would have fared better.
The repub party is 1/3 Evangelicals which is fine but it seems like there is no room for moderate republicans, if the party is winning then of course there is, its more of a tolerance though than an acceptance
So if you want to lose in the future keep up the name calling for people who do not buy into 100 what a portion of the party is saying and keep having at the rallies and conventions 90% of one nationality which by the way Mccain only got from the numbers above 10% of the minority vote, and more loses will come.

Kavon, I just gave a small donation to Mr. Coleman. I gave the donation directly to him instead of the central party because I am fed up with Mr. Davis allowing Mrs. Palin to be trashed. We need to get rid of Mr. Davis.
On another note, I am impressed with Mr. Romney helping out Mr. Coleman. I have been very pleased with the Romney camp over the past few days and I will consider this a few years from now when I decide to join a camp for 2012.
November 11th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
I think we need to take note of this: people have realized that Republicans aren’t conservative. The average Washington congressman has been less fiscally conservative than Bill Clinton. I think any Republican that’s played a part in our horrible financial situation deserves to lose decisively so we can put someone worthwhile in that spot.
November 11th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Kristopher thinks this shows Romney is a traitor.
November 11th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
what are you thinking, durka durka?
What the heck is a durka durka, anyway?
November 11th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
OHIO JOE seems to me to be a very measured and thoughtful person. Glad you’re here, Ohio Joe.
November 11th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Thanks Ohio Joe!
November 11th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
Thanks ogrepete, it is difficult to be measured and thoughtful when I am a little upset with the way things are going, but I am trying my best to see carefully what is going on and then act accordingly when the time comes.

“Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC today announced it has joined the battle to ENSURE(my emphasis)Senator Norm Coleman’s re-election in the Minnesota Senate race by donating $5,000 to his recount fund.”
Ensure? who’s the money going to? You can’t ensure something that’s already decided except for the counting…but perhaps you can “insure” it.
What’s the Governor of another state doing interfering in Minnesota’s election anyway? This seems ethically wrong at the very least.
November 11th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Kemp you moron. Romney isnt a sitting governor and his pac is making sure that the liberal whiners dont fake the vote.
love the one about 100 votes all for franken all of a sudden appearing on a machine and those 40 or so newly found ballots in the trunk of a Democratic party election judge .
thats democracy isnt it.
November 11th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Look it Mr. Kemp. This is not a case of Mr. Romney or anybody else being a Carpet begger, we all trying to have a fair election in MN, unlike the Carpet-Beging ACORN people who came to my state.
November 11th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
What a jerk Romney is. This is his way of smearing Palin I am sure.
November 11th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Mr. Galt:
Is this a joke?
November 11th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
“What a jerk Romney is.”
Well then, I guess you’d prefer Stuart Smalley in the U.S Senate?
..and how is helping Coleman a slam on Palin? I’m sure Palin supports Romney’s PAC in this effort.
November 11th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I agree with you on that point cwpete; I fail to see how helping Mr. Coleman is an offense to Mrs. Palin. If anything, the reverse is true.
November 11th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
yeah, OHIO JOE:
Probably just a joke. Sometimes sarcasm does not play out as intended on the web..

I just wanted to invite anybody who holds conservative to moderate political values to check out AmericaC2C.Org. We are a free online group of people from across the U.S., who are working together toward things like Honesty in Journalism, promoting traditional American and Constitutional values, and ensuring a continued conservative/moderate voice in America.
We could use additional like-minded people to work alongside of us. Thank you very much.

You go, Mitt! Let’s keep Stuart Smalley out of office anywhere.
On another note. . .
Ohio Joe–it’s Carpet BAGGER–not begger. Just FYI.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:01 am
Thank you, Mitt!
November 13th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
This is ridiculous. Coleman won it.
I am still shocked that there are that many stupid people who would vote for Franken. If they wanted change and wanted a Democrat in office…fine….but at least vote for a smarter Democrat.
November 14th, 2008 at 1:20 am
The 40-plus years of “education” by our teacher union has destroyed it, by producing millions of illiterates mumbling marxist nonsense full of self-esteem. In a similar manner “strong” unions have destroyed many other industries here – automobile, steel, electronics, textile, even some agriculture (grapes from Chile, tomatoes from Mexico, flowers from Columbia, etc.).t these were able to outsource to escape the death from union goons. 45% of teachers “teach” and 55% “administer”. My school in the 50’s had one principal and one secretary – everybody else tought, and if you did not learn you failed and repeated the class. No wonder these morons vote for a lousy comedian to be their Senator! Or for the community organizer Abu Hussein from Kenya to be their President!
November 14th, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Let’s be honest – without a major third party vote the democrats wouldn’t be anywhere close in MN, GA or AK. Franken has no chance in a head to head race. He may be the most meanspirited person to have run for the Senate is modern memory.
November 14th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
In response to Marc Jerics’ comment..You are so right!!! I have witnessed the continual decline in public education in our country through the experience of raising five children. I was so frustrated, that my two youngest were put in Parochial schools…at great sacrifice to a struggling single parent.Just wait until “educators” like William Ayres start mandating the curriculums in the schools!!!I am still trying to understand just what has happened to 52% of the people in this country..The fact that they were ignorant of the truth, or lack thereof, is overshadowed by their willful rejection of the numerous reasons to, at very least, seek some additional information on a candidate before giving someone so suspect, the power that has just been awarded..Was half this country put under some sort of hypnotic spell??? Sorry, but I’m still in shock, and trying to come to terms with the fear I have for the future of this nation. How could anyone vote for Stuart Smiley for anything?? God help us all!!!God Bless America!!

bpjam:
The senate race in GA was close because we are tired of liberal senators ignoring us and forgetting who they are to represent. We are conservative and we expect our senators to vote that way. This country is $10 trillion in debt and it seems our leadership doesn’t understand basic economics like what you take in minus what you spend is what you have left.
