It is not exactly the infamous, never to be seen, Michelle Obama whitey tape, but it is equally offensive.
Apparently, this is what Dr. Gates wrote on his college application.
“As always, whitey now sits in judgment of me, preparing to cast my fate. It is your decision either to let me blow with the wind as a nonentity or to encourage the development of self. Allow me to prove myself.”
Wright, Ayres, Khalidid and now Gates. One can conclude that our President has some eccentric and narcissistic friends, to say the least.

College application? Ye Gods. I don’t know about you, but there are a lot of things I wrote when I was 17 that I hope never to have anyone ever read again.

On the other hand, why did they approve this application?? Sounds more like he’s auditioning for Def Poetry Jam.

#2 – lol
Also, I haven’t read anything that would lead me to conclude Obama and Gates are ‘friends’.

What are we hoping to achieve by assassinating his character? I thought we were better than this.

#3, Obama said they were friends at the presser!

#3 – “Now, Skip Gates is a friend of mine, so I might be biased…”

Quoting somebody’s own words isn’t character assassination.

BTW, it came out that the 911 call didn’t mention two black males with backpacks. She said she didn’t see one and the other might be Hispanic. She also said that she wasn’t sure if it was somebody breaking into their own home, or what. Also, they were already in the house when she called. So Skip apparently invented the whole race issue himself.

I don’t know who Kristofer Lorelli is to call Henry Louis Gates “Skip.” I would guess that he is presumptuous to a fault, though. If you read the entire article, the quote is hardly as inflammatory as it sounds pulled out of context. I appreciate that intellectual honesty can be a difficult thing for conservatives, but this is so transparently disingenuous that Rush — well, no not him — Ann — not her, either — Sean — nope — Bill-O — yeah, right — well, you get the point.

9 – so true. This statement was not racially charged or dismissive of whites at all, when taken in context…well, yes it was.
