Aron,
Have you taken a look through the Simmons book yet? The part about Iverson is Simmons’ finest piece of writing.

There sure seems to be a sharp divide on how people think the Messiah is doing, and what they perceive his character to be. When those “characteristics and qualities” numbers start coming down, Obama’s poll numbers are going to plummet. Here’s to hoping peoples’ eyes start opening to that lack of real character.

It is interesting how much better Obama does in the abstract.

it’s obvious who the 42% who say “too liberal” are, they are disapproving of Obama both generally and on issues.
i’m interested in who the 14% “not liberal enough” are and how much of the disapproving-on-issues they make up. these people seem to approve of him generally, think he cares about them, but disapprove of him on issues like the economy and on whether he has clear plans.

#6 Honestly, Pres Obama could be more liberal than he is so far. He’s not pushed aggressively for any specifics, instead sitting back and letting Congress do all the work. He’s indicated squishiness on the details, just wanting a bill to sign and a photo op for the signing. I could easily see the hard left complaining about it.

Comparison on the “personal qualities” questions from the two CNN polls:
Honest and trustworthy:
Obama: 61/38
Palin: 55/43
Shares your values:
Obama: 53/47
Palin: 49/49
Cares about the Needs of People like you:
Obama: 59/41
Palin: 56/43
Is not a typical polician:
Obama: 63/36
Palin: 65/34
There’s not too significant of a gap between the President and his most likely opponent according to Intrade at this moment on these personal qualities questions. Just sayin’

This is it!
BIG TENT is THE winning strategy…
Today will prove it. We need Sarah, Mitt, Tim & Mike supporters to combine their efforts
AND defeat Obama, Reid and Pelosi’s ill conceived plans for this country.
Put petty differences aside and
U N I T E !

#7, quite true, and he’s highly constrained on domestic initiatives by Nelson, Snowe, Lieberman, Lincoln. remember, he had to cut about $100 billion in state aid, food stamps etc out of the stimulus to get their votes and will probably have to do the same on health care. i wonder what Obama would be doing domestically if he was able to get up-or-down majority votes in the Senate instead of having to get 60.
