And For Something Entirely Different

Per the umpteenth political obituary written for Mitt Romney below, does this remind anybody besides me of this famous sketch?

It’s always the same old line from the same old hacks.

  2. MWS Says:

    marK,

In point of fact, all the 2008 obituaries proved true. ;-)

  3. Dave Says:

Rumors of Mitt’s demise have been greatly exaggerated by the usual suspects.

  4. 2012-2020 Huckabee/Rubio Says:

    LOL … so sorry.

  5. Thunder Says:

The Problem with Alex and others like him, they try to morph RomneyCare into ObamaCare. The two are as different
    as Night and Day.

Pay attention Alex and your Kind.

1: Romney Care did not have a public Option! The Public Option is an attempt to take over all Health Care.
2: Because Hospitals are require to care for everyone that shows up, the Government is providing a form
of Health insurance to all individuals, its just a matter of who pays for it.

So, if you feel that the Government should pay for care of the Uninsured (as they must do by federal law),
then you are basically a Socialist.

And if you think that the unisured should be allowed to die, then how can you call yourself pro-life?

    MWS,

True, very true. But in that case, they really were dead.

Political obits written a year before the campaign even gets started, and more than two years before the first vote in the first primary/caucus are cast are premature to say the least. They are nearly always just wishful thinking on the part of opponents or angst on the part of supporters.

Remember McCain falling way behind in the Polls in the Fall of 2007? The race at that point was supposed to be between Mitt and Rudy. There were plenty of political obits written about him then. He came back to win the nomination.

His is just one example. “Never say ‘never’”, is excellent advice.

    Alan Grayson, call your office.

  8. MWS Says:

    marK,

Do you remember that fall debate where the other Republicans were falling all over themselves in praise of McCain? McCain was at his bottom, the obits were flying around the papers and internet, and many were calling for McCain to drop out.

The other contenders, convinced of this, were kissing his @ss left and right hoping to get that endorsement. It was really quite amusing…….

  9. Bob Hovic Says:

Mark, if you’re going to use Monty Python in this context, it should be Not Yet Dead from Spamalot:

  10. marK Says:

    MWS,

Yes, I do. Alex seems to have forgotten it. And that happened only two years ago! Perhaps his eagerness to see the last of Mitt got the best of him.
