I’m not sure he should be impeached. My position on Bill Clinton was always that he should have resigned out of morals, but that getting oral sex was not an impeachable offense.
So yeah, same thing for Sanford I guess, although he did do a few things more than Clinton did.
As with Pres Clinton, the main issue isn’t sex. For Pres Clinton, it was the impact his lies had on an impending civil case. For Gov Sanford, it was the abandonment of his position.
Stupid Republicans should’ve done this within the month that Sanford got caught. Now it’s too close to the elections. The GOP might destroy itself in SC and take Nikki Haley’s campaign along with it. She would be the second Indian American governor in the country (guess who is the first?).
Hasn’t this impeachment thing in SC been going on since August or September? I thought I remember hearing about SC legislators beginning the process quite a while ago.
Talk of impeachment is pretty old news, but actual action on it would come as a surprise to most, since Bobby Harrell said last week that there wasn’t a case for impeachment.
For the record, Nikki Haley’s campaign wasn’t really going anywhere anyway. She’s kind of an afterthought. Gresham Barrett will probably get the GOP nomination.

I say, do it!

He should have resigned. Since he doesn’t have enough dignity for that, he should be impeached.

take his name off the 2012 list!

For me, this reinspires confidence in the GOP. I’m glad the GOP is willing to hold their own kind accountable.

#8… That would be a shame. You should never put it past the GOP to shoot itself in the foot though.

Is being a bad governor an impeachable offense in South Carolina? It’s not like leaving the country is illegal, just irresponsible.
