    Great stuff again, David.

    Keep it comin’. :)

  2. Stephen M Says:

Mike has the essential winning message. I hope the interview is watched by all. Let’s keep the momentum building month by month thru ‘10 and ‘12!

Nice remarks about Sarah, Marco, Mitch, Haley and even Mitt (see, Mike likes you!) who normally has to deal with this EVERY and EVERY month…

ROMNEYCARE: DC Examiner slams it. The Next Right slams it, WSJ slams it, Cato slams it, Philip Klein slams it, residents of MA don’t think it’s worked. WSJ slams it, once again. Red State slams it. American Spectator slams it. Ken Blackwell slams it. Paul Gigot slams it. Cato, again.

Massachusetts: 26% Consider State’s Health Care Reform a Success

Twenty-six percent (26%) of Massachusetts voters say their state’s health care reform effort has been a success. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds that 37% say the reform effort has been a failure, while another 37% are not sure.

  3. Matthew E. Miller Says:

Huckabee is almost stunningly good in those kind of settings. He’s positioned well politically; if only he had a remotely conservative record. Still, it’s been awhile since I’ve been uncomfortable with the idea of a Huck nomination.

Really? A tax on national defense? I hear liberal Congressional proposals and I, like most Americans, wonder if they’re serious. We’re going to put a price tag on security?

With Congress and President Obama spending money on everything at breakneck speed, it’s interesting that they are only now getting nervous about spending – but only when it comes to providing the necessary funds to complete our mission in Afghanistan. They don’t need a new “war tax” to fund a strategy for victory in the war zone. They simply need to prioritize our money appropriately.

I find it telling that the Pelosi-Reid Congress is only cost-conscious when it comes to our national defense. Scary. Nonsensical. Unacceptable.

  5. Kevin Says:

    ^ oh brother.

I find it strange that to so many conservatives, apparently the military is the one government function which is impeccable and cannot afford any spending cuts.

  6. Fiscal Conservative Says:

Huckabee is definitely on his game here. You get the feeling that KK generally likes him.

Poll: Romney’s Favorables Among Republicans Drop Below 50 Percent

    By David Weigel 11/24/09

This is a surprising result from Public Policy Polling, the occasionally partisan group which nonetheless called the New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial races accurately. Mitt Romney’s favorable rating among Republican voters has fallen to 48 percent–a plurality, but a weak one. And the trend lines are even more interesting. Since April, when PPP started asking the question, Sarah Palin’s favorable number has moved from 76 percent to 75 percent; Mike Huckabee’s has moved from 67 percent to 65 percent. Romney, alone, has seen a statistically significant drop from 60 percent down to 48.

  9. Gary Johnson 2012 Says:

I do wish people would stop using the word “localism” to refer to political issues being handled at the local level. “Localism” more often connotes the economic theory that goods should be produced or bought at the local level, rather than from abroad. When speaking in political terms, we should simply use terms like “federalism” and “decentralization.”

Do you wear hammer pants and sport a mullet? Federalism and decentralization are so 5 minutes ago. Now it’s subsidiarity or devolution. Or even the nouveau portmanteau “chaordic” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaordic). Fair warning: if you use the term “chaordic” within earshot of me I will lob a shoe or whatever else I have to hand at you. I hate that stupid term.

Only if you help us, friend. Would you commit yourself to one out of three of your posts being an anti-Romney message? If all of us pledge just one in three of our posts we can make this the greatest site in the entire universe. What say you, little one? Are you with us?

  25. d-d-dotan Says:

I find it strange that to so many conservatives, apparently the military is the one government function which is impeccable and cannot afford any spending cuts.

You don’t understand conservatives. No one believes the military is “impeccable”–corrupt politicos like Murtha have turned the pentagon into their personal slush-fund piggy bank. We need procurement reform, we need the formation of a combined services general staff instead of joint chiefs formation, and we need combined-arms weapons systems that are powerful yet simple and sustainable. But cutting the budget will deliver none of those goals.

  26. d-d-dotan Says:

    Mike Huckabee is indefatigable.

  30. Micah Says:

    26. Don’t worry, we will catch up on the Huckabee coverage when he tells NRA members that Obama shot himself – again. Good ole Huck has some great qualities we find in VP Biden.

  31. R.C. Collins Says:

    30. The NRA national membership adores Huck!

    Jealous, Micah? :)

  32. d-d-dotan Says:

yeah, I knew you would show up with a quick juvenile straight out of high school quip.

Let’s be friends and console ourselves with the news that Romney has fallen below 50% favorable among Republicans and that RomneyCare now polls at 26% satisfaction among people in MA.

  33. Micah Says:

    31. You nailed it R.C.! I’ve always wanted the NRA to adore me. I don’t know why but it’s been a long life dream. Nice…

  34. R.C. Collins Says:

    …a “long life dream” LOL

  35. R.C. Collins Says:

    Mitt’s a “long life” member. Isn’t he?

Until he got caught in a lie about it!
That went over well with the NRA.

Best news of the day! :)

  37. OHIO JOE Says:

In part because of recent events, Mr. Huckabee is not my first or second choice, but in this interview he knew what buttons to push and he shows here why he is the front-runner at this this early period in the game.

  38. Heath Says:

Sounds like Mike is running for VP again :) .

Yeah what’s with all these strange Romney critics popping up everywhere and ruining this site?

  39. Art Griego Says:

  41. zeek Says:

I hope I am an honest, non-emotional person so let me set my self up for a hit. Mike huckabee is very comfortable and easy to listen too. I think his gift and most powerful influence is that of a commentator or populist show host. I thought his commment about Mitt and Sarah were the nicest, non-combative thing he has ever said about those he truly sees as his adversaries. Good for him: here comes the “But” … Does anyone struggle with Huck’s assesment of Sarah when he said “I dont think she is anything like what others have said about her and then he repeats and articulates in words a slam of Sarah palin more blunt and pithy that her own opponets have done.
I dont think I am reading more into this than I should, HUck has used this tatic before and to be completely honest I have too when I really wanted to dig someone in a self protective manner.

  42. zeek Says:

Sorry for the spelling errors I’m holding down two jobs and sometimes I just get too tired.

  43. Ben Says:

Huckabee does best in spontaneous, off the cuff interviews because he knows what he believes and is not afraid of what other people might think.

  44. d-d-dotan Says:

Yeah what’s with all these strange Romney critics popping up everywhere and ruining this site?

Here’s what’s strange: A lot of us suspect that the pro-Romney waktard chorus that stalks this site are trolls whose purpose is to discredit Romney with their over-the-top praise that only calls attention to Romney’s massive character and accomplishment deficits. Only no one here supports Romney. Not with a straight face anyway. So people who think Romney is a drooling idiot find themselves in arguments with trolls who pose as pro-Romney waktards whose purpose is to discredit Romney. Weird.
