#2 I wish that were so. I have a lot of buddies over there and a few who may go back if were still there in late 2010.
If our leaders aren’t willing to win I’d prefer my buddies not risk their lives.

We need a long term commitment in Afghanistan. I think that 40,000 more troops is the bare minimum I would advise for a proper Surge strategy to work. We need to stay and fight until victory is had. We need to change the hearts and minds of the people through investment and rebuilding and promotion of Democracy. A long term commitment and investment to Afghanistan and Iraq and opposition to withdrawal and cut and run should be the center piece of any Republican candidate’s foreign policy – that and regime change in Iran.
